I don't have any issues with my p990i so far..been using it for a week now and only experienced restarts twice for the 1st two days. that was because of my ignorance of using the phone not knowing that apps are still running when you press the "back" button but i was able to solve that by using swiss manager which automatically closes open apps and reclaim memory automatically if you close the flip of the phone.

@jologs the thing is bai it should not restart for whatever reason. the fact that the P990i and even the P1i has these issues means only one thing: SE doesn't care about its loyal customers by selling them over prices electronics that promises alot of things but is clearly substandard. And to think the P990i is the pilot their pilot product as the N95 is to Nokia.

Hehehe. Enough is enough na gyud. Di na gyud ko pailad sa SE. But it's really sayang for me. The P990i is one device I HATE to hate (hehe) being a loyal fan of the P series from the start.

Since Nokia lauched the N and E series we can have better options but I still miss the touchscreen. Somehow my work is quite intuitive when using a touchscreen. But the bugs of the UIQ3 and 3.1 present more trouble than help.

    bai comic..

From the recent problems besetting your P9 bro.. I get to understand that you seem to be traumatized na w/ the products of SE bai.. I hope this will not bar you from buying another SE phone in the future.. SE way back and even now, has and is always been a well known contender in the cellphone manufacturing industry.. it joins those high ranks of other top models e.g. motorola, samsung and of course Nokia.

I for one cant blame SE for the product they have launch (e.g. P990i).. Im sure Nokia also has there share of maladies and phone crapness... You just have to search on the Web for Nokia phone forums and see what problems most nokia users are encountering.

I think lang.. every products launch in the market is not perfect and.. it's bound to be faulty in the long run.. there are lemons that comes w/ every batch of these cellphone units being introduced (less QA check maybe?).. It's a marketing ploy for these big cellphone makers to introduce updates every now and then.. This is where after market profits comes in...the more the customer downloads this updates.. the more they are bounded to the cellphone manufacturers whims of introducing another batch of unit superceding the previous units faults.. (the more naka mag sige ug upgrade and ultimately buying another unit from them).

When can you say enough is enough?.. for me lang.. it is when you stop patronizing and buying another cellphone najud.. irregardless of what brand it has.. but then.. at our present times.. not owning a cellphone would be tantamount in living in a remote island w/out access to friends and family... Now the question is... who wants to live in that aspect? only a very choosen few i think.. who hates technology and doesnt want others to communicate w/ them..

nganung di man nimo ma blame bai nga naa mana tatak sa ilang brand. mayta made by a cloner or someone else kai di nako ma blame ang SE. Before ko ni buy og P990i kabalo nako sa mga problems nga nag plague ani pero i thought nga exaggeration lang sa mga users knowing that past Ps have shared some of their own negative comments. But the P990i just floored every celphone/PDA problems by far! My point was that the P990i is the flagship device of SE and it turned out to be a major disappointment. I mean come on. SE advertises like the P990i is a super device but delivered poor performance. Diba? And what about those memory leaks, restarts, hangs (it's not only my unit that hangs there are lots of others)? Devices sold should be working accordinly at launch. They should not give excuses like "firmware updates" to fix bugs. We paid for the F*cking thing but it didn't f*cking deliver!

Enough is enough for me bai is regarding SE. I didn't encounter any problems with my Nokias. Only in SE did I encounter hang ups and restarts. I have experienced slow downs and such on my N series phones but not to the point of it hanging up or restarting. Tinoud naay problems ang Nokia phones pud of course. Pero unlike the P990i specifically even the P1 where the phone "restarted to improve performance"? that's bullshit oi. flaw gyud na. impossible nga during production wala sila kabalo ani na fact but they continued with UIQ3 gihapon. They know that the UIQ3 has a memory leak problem but they still used it and even put in a smaller ram. High end phone ni so dapat ang functionalities og quality niya high end pud diba? Why would I stop buying phones when I know it is really needed for my work and business? That's why I really hate it when I am surfing or emailing or talking or texting when the phone suddenly "restarts to improve performace" it would have been ok if the phone didnt cost that much.

I am a loyal P user ever since the P800 but what do loyal P users get after buying the P990i? They get f*cked up!

read here what other loyal P users have to say here bai. http://www.esato.com/board/viewforum.php?forum=35

calma lang bro..i am totally on your side . hehehe.. . maybe a letter of complaint address to them would do the trick? boycotting SE products is one way of making them listen to all p9 users who has the issues mentioned in the forums accoss the web..

in the US.. most americans would file class action lawsuits for these kind of thing... good thing SE has minimal market share in North America.. or else.. they can get their ass fired back at them...multiple class action lawsuits are very bad image for a company there.. that's why out of court settlements are most common, companies sometimes just levels up and pay some sort of remunerations for the customers moral and emotional damages.
