The abduction of Jonas should scare the ordinary people becasuse he was abducted on somebody's idea that he was an NPA. The government is somehow sending a message that whoever tries to "go against" the government will be branded as an NPA and shall be abducted, never to be seen again.

If many of us would read the newspapers, there has been several accounts of activists abducted by military personnel, none of them seen again, others were seen after a few months, but were lost again after "picking up a few more clothes from their houses." I remember two female UP students-activists, one was even pregnant when they were abducted.

I don't know about you guys, but these abductions really make me think.

tungod mana sa human security act... the government could even open bank accounts if they want to without due process... they can arrest you without a warrant of arrest kung tan.aw nila na against nila... unsa.on nalang ang mga critical thinkers

sometimes it's just paranoia...

(1) sometimes some ordinary people are paranoid that the military is abducting activists on ideas that he/she is an NPA...

(2) sometimes some ordinary people are paranoid that if you don't cooperate w/ NPAs, you will get yourself abducted and killed...

(3) sometimes some activists are paranoid that either or both the military & NPA are after them...

(4) sometimes some ordinary folks & some military are paranoid that some activist could be some kind of a spy working for NPA...


The reality is, activists are the no. 1 target of recruitment for NPA's for urban warfare...and the military is keen on eyeing them as possible infiltrators...

Joma is not only enjoying political asylum in Netherlands but also financial & logistical support from foreign entities...but now the Dutch gov't is keeping a closer watch on him mao na maglisod gyud cya gmay...

CPP-NPA is to Joma as Al Qaida is to Bin Laden...just an analogy.

hehe. in my opinion, activists (especially students) maybe the most vulnerable to NPA recruitment. why? even if u r just a green earth activist, there will somehow be an inclination on your part going strongly against the gov't in political issues...that is where the NPAs target you...your weak spot.
