Actually what manulife (canada) offered is an investment on mutual funds, which are invested in either government bonds, or foreign investments, their website also indicates percentage of investments on a particular sector. I am just not sure on the mechanics of the investments scheme, what i know though is that you pay monthly 300 and you have an investment in mutual funds for 50k if that earns you can withdraw your gain.

so 50k is the minimum investment for a Balanced fund? or for the equity fund? what is a regular pay? thanks.

Its not allowed by Philippine Law to invest local premiums or deposits in foreign investments. So I think the manufund invests in bonds, government or commercial bonds. Mutual fund also includes stocks and money market instruments in its portfolio. It seems quite impossible for an investor to put in P300 and automatically have P50K. There must be some mixed up or miscom.

Regular pay is an investment scheme where you can put in money on a regular basis in a fund until you reach your finanacial goal although you are not obligated to do so that is the regualr premium. as long as the fund allows you to. This a good tool where you can have capital appreciation on an installment basis.

Before investing in mutual, variable, UITF or stocks, there are alot of things an investor should know and consider to maximize growth and minimize risks. All these instruments carry varying degrees of risks no matter what your agent or salesman tells you. Even Fixed or Bond Funds have risks.
Do not also look for spectacular growth performance. If you will notice, all illustrations have disclaimers that previous performance is NOT indicative of future performance. Past performance should be viewed as a barometer or gauge on the stability of the fund managers to grow your money in a more predictive pattern so you can align this to your goals. You dont want your money to skyrocket this year and lose it next year. Scientia, hindi tsamba is what we are looking for.
It is also quite important to get professional advise before plunging in. Mas maayo ng you know the pros and cons kaysa magmahay. We often hear this"wa man ko kabalo na ing ana diay na"

I was referring to manulife canada, here are the snapshots of the mutual fund investments with foreign component the total investments earned more than around CAD 7,000 already todate given the CAD 3K withdrawal six months ago the investment was made around 3 years ago.

Actually the scheme is similar here except maybe for the taxes and fund charges. There are funds i know that have grown double in 2.5 years.

yes, but the investment made above was done using a 300 monthly payment and you cannot withdraw more than the initial investment of 50k what you can withdraw is the gains only, you may be able to terminate the account but you have to pay penalties and other charges.

yes, the mutual fund is an open ended account. You can subscribe and they can issue w/ no limits. The only disadvantage is you can only transact once a day.

there was no actual cash out of 50k for the initial investment only a 300/month for the next 15 years will give you a 50k investment in mutual fund according to the units of your choice, and since the start of the payment whenever your investment surpasses 50k mark you can withdraw the excess, is there a similar offering here locally?

I think what we have here approximates to what your referring to. You are allowed to make withdawals as long as you maintan a certain minimum fund value.
