aq pud naay mild dextroscoliosis mao lisud balance sa bar hehee.. pero ana jud, no pain no gain mga brader...mao fistbump mga ectos... hehehehe
long arms are excellent when it comes to pulling (this is why monkeys are great climbers), but it's a disadvantage when it comes to pressing as the angles are not favorable and you have to press the bar further.
I can bench my BW if I arch my back and squeez my shoulder blades. This will cut down the ROM. I don't want to do this everytime I bench coz I don't want to drain my energy lifting too heavy and also to avoid injuries.
~"deadlift numbers should be higher than squats." - where did you learn this bro? paki explain? This is the first time i heard this. I agree that you can deadlift 50% higher than squats and there are several factors involved.
I can dead 60kg+, but it's too risky coz I don't have belt or wrist strap to support me during heavy lifting. I have many excuses.
I've already reached my goal. Just maintaining my athletic type body.
Reasons why I don't lift too heavy:
1. Risk of injury due to bad form (it's hard to lift heavy with proper form, even pro bodybuilders injur themselves)
2. I'm not into bulking (Lifting heavy is not always the answer to getting big, there are plenty of ways to build muscle)
3. I have weak bones and joints (i'm working on it)
What i am trying to say is don't blame your "long arms", arching your (lower)back and squeezing your shoulder is the right way to activate your chest when doing benchpress, hence the proper form. squeezing your shoulder blades(tight) /retracting your shoulder blades will help you avoid rotator cuff injuries and also will also avoid ur front delts in taking over during the pressing movement. Also, don't take lifting heavy too literally bro![]()
With regards to deadlift to squat ratio, i am talking about the majority/general public stats. deadlift to squat(ATG/parallel). Don't get me wrong bro, im just trying to help![]()
