mens:

federer-has same style as sampras as what i've seen....
nadal- a fighter and really works hard at every ball...
womens:
steffi graf= still my idol
martina navratalova= good singles player but best at doubles...
Actually, Martina was best at singles (although yeah, she was also a very successful doubles player) ... and she revolutionized women's tennis. Back in the 70's, nobody focused on fitness, Martina was the one who introduced it. Being fit and well conditioned means you can keep the same intensity throughout the match. Back then, her rivals were lady-like.. Chris Evert, Yvonne Goolagong, Andrea Jaeger, Tracy Austin, Hana Mandlikova, etc.. in contrast to her rivals, Martina was toned, trunk-like legs, manly arms... and she was quick.
Steffi Graf may perhaps be the greatest women player of all time... but she won some of her grandslam titles in the absence of her greatest rival. MONICA SELES. Remember, before Monica left.. she was raking The French, U.S., and Aussie opens. For 2 consecutive years, Monica got those titles and reach the Wimbledon finals once I think. She was ranked number 1, on the very top of her game and she was still improving back then.. during the clay-court season after her third consecutive aussie title, she then she got stabbed ... the whole women's tennis history got altered-rewritten. When she got back, she wasn't the same to say the least.. she gained a lot of weight.. she grew a few inches.. and she lost her speed as well.
Imagine if the stabbing didn't occur.. she could've gotten more titles, more grandslams, and got even better than how she was back then (I think she was around 19 when she got stabbed, right?).
Why pamper life's complexities when the leather runs smooth on the passenger seat?
monica seles might have won lots of grandslams but for me steffi graff is mentally strong despite of all the ups and downs she had w/ the media plus her father's problems and then that monica seles stabbing... both of them had a really hard tym with that... i think the question still stand what if monica didn't get stabbed...would she have dominated the game![]()
Oh yes, ug wala pa na dunggaban si Monica, she was unbeatable. Check this:
During the period from January 1991 to February 1993, Seles won 22 titles and reached 33 finals out of the 34 tournaments she played in. She compiled an astounding 159-12 win-loss record (92.9% winning percentage), including a 55-1 win-loss record in Grand Slam tournaments. In the broader context of her first four years on the circuit (1989-1992), Seles had a win-loss record of 231-25 (90.2% winning percentage), and collected 30 titles.
That's total domination...!!!! That's an era where a lot of top-class players were around: Sanchez-Vicario, Capriati, Sabatini, an aging Navratilova (but still very competitive), Maleeva sisters, Novotna, and of course, Graf.

monica in those years did not win all four grandslam titles in a year so its not total dominations...she never won the wimbledon title in her career....
She didn't.. but she got to the finals. But if you see the record, shereached the finals in 33 oout of 34 tournaments entered... that's just unbelievable considering the depth of women's tennis back then.... and all that before she turned 20. Imagine if she kept on playing.
Why pamper life's complexities when the leather runs smooth on the passenger seat?
if she kept playin, maybe she could of broke records but then again there are lots of young players that comes out to take the challenge and even the older can still stand...
Around that time.... Hingis and Venus turned pro a few years after (I think 1994) pero they didn't rise to dominance `til the late 90's na. I think Seles could've won Wimbledon sab, she could've adapted sa changes sa iyang lawas while on-tour and in-training... pero she was off the court man for almost 2 years man tingali to... ni tubo siya ug 2-3 inches, nya nanambok (BILBIL) and she was off the court when all that happened. Pag balik niya, she wasn't the same at all.. not even close.

yap,she was not even close... i used to be a freak w/ tennis way back in high school... i've watched her game and am not a fan w/ her ground strokes...hehehehe...if she probably went back to training and really wanting it lyk before maybe she could of...
you know who i thought would of dominated couple years ago...i thought it would b hingis but i don't know what happen to her...she's back but not lyk before....
