Ang catholic church pwede nimu e compare sa public school clasroom, more population less learning. Unya ang ubang religions, ma compare sa private schools which has lesser populations, so pwede ma 1on1 ang mga students or attendees.

sa ako nga sitwasyon mao ni balhin ko bro kay nakabasa man ko ug daghan nga teachings which is contrary sa teachings sa catholic..hehehe!!! siguro sa uban sakto ka pero sa ako nga sitwasyon sayup ka...

It's actually true na masdaghan na ang Muslim population sa world. I myself was shocked. 2.2 Billion Muslims and 1.7 Billion Catholics. I myself couldn't understand why daghan kaayo nag Muslim.

According to the article bro, Muslims are PROJECTED to reach 2.2 Billion by 2030 .. that means mag 2.2 Billion cla ig 2030 pa.

Catholics are now at 1.2 Billion to date, increasing by 100 million new Catholics each year. Seventeen years from now it will amount to up to 2.1 Billion Catholics.

Muslim population is growing because of the encouragement of large families rather than by conversion.
Catholicism on the other hand is mostly driven by conversion, especially in China and Africa.
Catholicism is dwindling in Europe due to contraception/low population growth and increased secularization.

    Here's the catch:
Although numbers count, "theorists" are not certain what type of Islam or Catholicism will be practiced within 30 years.

lower church attendance could be blamed on modern things... sa una, wala pay malls so manimba tanang taw inig Sunday to go to the market...

I came from a small town... i remember all my neighborhood going to Mass every Sunday, kay bihira ra ang naay TV ug wa pay mall sa una. Gamay ra pud ang jeep, so manglakaw ra ang mga taw. Sunday is also market day, so ang mga nagpuyo sa layo mo-anha sa town proper double purpose na kay to attend mass and buy their goodies.

Now, naa nay televised Mass ug naa naay malls ug daghan na sakyanan. Daghan pud kalingawan ang taw so makig compete man ni cla sa church attendance.

Also, people nowadays are "choosing" what to be believe. KBL (Kasal, Binyag, Libing) Catholics are more common though

First, this happened because the believers especially our youths were gradually compromised and consumed by the mainstream of secularism. Secondly, the church leaders lost their moral ascendancy in inculcating the values of a true believer because they themselves are willing victims of secularism. And lastly, the teachings are no longer attractive and does not make sense to them because it does not hold a truth according to reason and logic. Most of the believers in our contemporary time are looking for an ideology/faith that will address the mundane and the life hereafter. A belief system that have a strong moral force to look up to.

nowadays, people are trying to mould religion, particularly Catholicism according to what is comfortable to them... known as self-idolatry or the WORSHIP OF SELF.

Good point, but I don't think the main reason the declined attendance in the Catholic church it's because of the existence of malls and/or televised mass. AFAIK, most of the malls' business hours on Sunday doesn't start around 10 am and traditional church hours is around 6 am-8 am. It's just karon na nga uban church nga mag misa every hour aron daghan kwarta ma kuha. Even in most churches are offering mass every hour, why the attendance is still declining?

They're just looking for something to blame as to why no one goes to church anymore. People especially the youth are now enlightened to the reality and weakens this insurance company masquerading as religious organization. They want to destroy the influence of social media because they got exposed because of it! After series of getting exposed, nawala na ilang mga credibility. Pataka na lang ug yawit sa ilang wali against the government, RH Bill, ug butang pa ug posters TEAM PATAY, TEAM BUHAY outside sa simbahan. Turn-off kaayo!

You see... religion unified people and that's how the business started. Ironically, social media as well unifies people. Destroying the competition is just the only way to go for them - but social media let you check the other side of the story.

Back in the day, the Catholic Church banned the presentation of plays. Dili kay wala na'y manimba, it's because at the time they claimed nga it's the work of the devil kuno kay actors are liars and deceivers. This destroyed classical theatre for thousands of years until the Renaissance.

It's just karon na lang nahimata ang katawhan especially the youths, thanks to social media.

I must have misinterpreted it. My bad. In that article they mentioned Christianity. In my understanding, Christianity covers all religions that believe in Christ. Well, Christianity is dominant now of course but I am wondering about the RC. Anyway, here's the article I read. So this was back in 2008. And yes, the Muslims have overtaken the Catholics then. Muslims more numerous than Catholics: Vatican | Reuters And the reason is stated why in this article.
    Does anybody have recent statistics?

But in European countries, I do notice a lot of Catholics converting to other religions. As for the case in our country. It's more of Catholics just not going to church. Solution to the problem? Find more ways to entice people, perhaps.
