What about the tutorials that ship with PhotoShop CS? How do they compare to the tutorials available on the web?

I heard Photoshop CS rocks.. *_* I've only got PS7... another friend of mine's got PS8.. what the heck!? I'm missing out on so much.~ >:[

PS 8 = PS CS

i can't say much about the differences about PS 7 and PS CS since i upgraded from PS 6 to CS. one thing i will say though, upgrade na mo to PS CS. naay differences sa PS 6 like mas daghan ang modes sa PS CS (i.e. Linear Light na mode). basta nindot gyud cya!

Anyway, I do need help with a certain effect.

Do you people know how to create a perfect caricature of an image?

I've tried asking in every photoshop forum for this kind of effect, but they told me that it can be acheived easily (the process is still long) in Illustrator than in Photoshop. But I don't want to use Illustrator and I don't want tedious processes! I have an actual image of my attempt to this kind of effect:

Notice it is smaller than the original, mainly because it is dirty when the size is maintained- caused by the filter "Find Edges". I used two filters for this, each on two different duplicate layers of the original, and a layer effect:
• Stylize > Find Edges
• Artistic > Cutout

Do any of you know a better and cleaner way to acheive this effect? Thanks.

pre, try doing the posterize effect. pangitaa lang sa web, daghan tutorials ani. im not sure it will yield the same results. pero try lang.
