my grandfather died from liver cancer just this december 2007 ... it all started with his diabetes...
nidaghan iya sakit from cholesterol..to highblood... TB.. etc...
again, it all started with diabetes...
kinsa ninyo ang naay relatives or friends UNTIL now naay cancer... ?(any form of cancer)...
maybe we can share experiences then makahatag og assistance or feedback sa uban....
@smurky
My deepest condolences for your grandpa.

My dad's a diabetic.
The first time he was diagnosed with diabetes, around 5 or 6 years ago, pirting daghanang mga tambal gipainom. And siguro wala pa ka adjust body niya, he was weak. But eventually, na-anad man and he's very okay na karon. He has his blood sugar within the normal range. He exercises everyday (walking for 30min to 1 hour then basic yoga) and he watches what he eats. I mean, WE watch what he eats. Hehe. He sometimes drink beer (kung mangatol ug beer). His doctor said, ok lang mag beer, basta dili lang excessive. Same with food. He can eat lechon, dinuguan, cake, pero gamay lang. Especially during occasions sa balay, of course naay mga klase klaseng desserts. Luoy lang usahay kay sometimes we eat sweets in front of him, and sort of maglaway siya. That's why my mom makes a separate dessert for him which is usually made of low-fat low-sugar ingredients. Sometimes, walay mahimo na dessert akong mama, we offer him a spoon or two, pero siya mismo ang ga refuse. Disiplina lang sa sarili. And I think kana ang solution for diabetes.

keep checking your dad's sgpt level. do it as often as you can. my dad started diabetic too. took meds and eventually ruined his liver. he died of liver cancer 3 yrs after it was first discovered he had a mass in his liver. anyway, he turned to alternative medicine after it was discovered and lived a very rigid diet.
Hi cc,
I'll ask my dad if his SGPT's normal. Thanks for the tip.
@marl
yes bro, this thread were meant for diabetics... thanks sa imo insights bout your dad... :mrgreen:
FYI: theres a 3rd type of diabetes na karon... bisan sakit ga-upgrade gihapon or ga-mutate..
imagine with this type of diabetes, bisan mag-injec t pa ang patient og strong dosage of insulin
maglisod gihapon ang iyang lawas og recognize sa insulin. so ang nahitabo, nabalewala na hinoon
ang medicine...
