    We need an Asian version of NATO. ASEAN is focused only on economic cooperation but has no military cooperation.

    I consider them authoritarian, but not totalitarian or oppressive. They are trying to follow the Singaporean idea which is economic development without political freedom. Totalitarian/oppressive is more for North Korea, not China.
