    dba as long as dli active ang card kai d man ka mgkacharge ana?? maybe it's phishing...or one of their marketing strats to make them earn...i suggest that you ask them for proof nga naactivate ang card and the list of trans nga nagamit ana nga number (basi diay nafraud ka ani nga card. it is possible, you know.) and if waa silay mapakita or kung naa man sila makita (and it is definitely unauthorized), you can sue them all. i got a bpi account and was pre approved for a card too...d unta ko nila hatagan kai enough na sako ang hsbc. lol!

    sa case sad nako taga RCBC nanawag alanganin pa jud ky mga 6pm mi tawag duna ko gibuhat. i got the card if my recollection serves me right mga feb or march this year guro to miabot via mail/postman. wa ko'y gibuhat sa maong card pero gibasa nako ang agreement namantala didto nga mo activate lang siya once imo gamiton. ug wa nako gamita kay no need man ug wa sad ko'y gamitan.

    (last week got phone call)
    rcbc guy: hello sir! si mr.____ rcbc credit section diay ni. mangutana lang ta ko sa birthday nimo?

    ako: kay ngano man ug sa unsang rason?

    rcbc guy: kinahanglanun man gud ni sir para sa imong credit card

    ako: wa man ko nanginahanglan ug credit card?

    rcbc guy: aw syalan ba diay sir, so ato nalang ni ipa-cancel ni imo credit card

    ako: yap, please do that

    starighten out the charges over the phone first then if its need to be escalated, consult your lawyer..

    KANA! Ang hsbc card agents ang daghan racket! di man gud na officially from HSBC sila mao na daghan ahente.

    when i used to work in this IT company among IP phone naa man caller ID. When I had friends who wanted cards I wanted to refer my agent.

    I didn't think nothing of it but when I redialed the number na shock lang siya ngano naa ko number niya, as if ba that it bothered her that I was able to contact her.

    ^i once worked in different banks. We had affiliates, not really branches, that offer our cards. Ang system kay sila ang mo offer sa credit cards and loans. Per card, mohatag ang bank og payment and incentive like 1000/card approved.
    Big banks, like SCB and citibank, are very strict so dili pwede mo offer ang agents og laing cards. ang uban kay multi agent jud na sila kung masakpan kay terminated diretso.

    btw, Mao makaana ang uban na HSBC agent na sila kay ang dali maapprove ang HSBC. pero giilad ramo ana.multi agent gud na sila.

    Makabayad rana si TS sa annual fee oi. 100k baya ang credit limit haha

    Standard Chartered and Citibank. and for the record, i didnt offer any credit cards and loans.
    btw, HSBC is a decent bank. There are just agents who are ruining their reputation.

    UPDATE:

    I went to BPI to discus this matter. They explained that the card issued for me was a "PERK" as a preferred client. Being issued that card, whether activated or not, In-Use or not, the card is registered under my name by them already, therefore, they have the right to bill me every year for the annual fee.

    This annual billing will pile up unless I do something to cancel it.

    They suggested that:

    1. I make a written request to cancel and nullify my card.
    2. I make a written request to reverse the billing for annual membership charges.

    So, it is clear now, the burden of removing this "PERK" they gave is on me. The hassle this has become as a result of BPI giving me a perk has to be resolved by a written request, or else the billing will accumulate.

    Anyone like to help me draft that request? I want it laced with enough toxicity that will make them rethink of doing it again to others.

    would declaring it lost and stolen a less hassle? I know you need affidavit of loss but i think it's a bit faster to cancel it.

    if not, you just write "please cancel this per" plus every emotion you feel as of the moment. lol
