Point of Clarification the DIRECT SELLING ASSOCIATION as the word indicates is an association...you have to apply thru your deliberate choice to be a member of the organization...if you choose not to apply then it does not mean that you are an illegitimate direct selling group. It's the choice of the organization so the listing has no bearing at all. The Philippine business scenario recognizes your DTI and SEC affiliation not your association membership.

i don't know why many people here lagot kay cebuboybox and the one who started this thread...

it's good he enumerated companies, he's not suing each one man sad, and he's not prohibiting people connected with these companies to speak in defense...what's wrong with that?

and this thread is great! unsa man tong not thinking bout ethics in starting this thread?! actually, it's helpful for people like me who's been invited by some MLM.. at least i can see hear the good the bad and the ugly, then decide on my own.

hay naku! if we're so concerned about ethics to the point na we won't even try to criticize, mangamote na lang ta. sigurado pang kwarta.

basta as i understand, if the mlm is more into the recruiting thing as what darkloadzarkan said sa first post, most probably it's pyramiding.

I think and feel that most mlm are indeed pyramid scams kay gibase nila ang imo profit through your recruitment. geez, what a mind job (from The Matrix ).mao lagi, makakwarta kag dako f makarecruit ka but think twice coz this kind of business is running on exponential decay. f wa ka kasabot ana, pagskwelag eng'g or 2-on ug calculus .

well, easy come easy go lng na. apply nlng mog avon or tupperware, klaro pa. better, pangita nlng ug mas tarong na trabaho kaysa cge mug pangilad.

anyway, thats just my opinion. and i dont care if you disagree.

    my opinion:
naka adto ko sa recruitment meeting sa igen portal. ang speaker nila si manny cultura.
nindot gyud ang speech, maka apil gyud, may gani wala ko na dani. pero ug huna2x-on nimo murag networking raman gihapon ni.
binary system lagi, and point system, pero diba mas dako man ka ug makuha if mang recruit ka, boang man cguro if mag cge raka palit para mo dako imong points, syempre adto gyud ka sa recuitment scheme kay dako man to ug points mahatag.
and isa pa, kalagot lang tong mga taga didto kay gamiton man nila ang ginoo, g ingnan ko cge na brod basin pag buot ni sa ginoo basin madatu ka ani. la sila na buang, maau man ug ang ginoo ang mang recruit para sa ako. and besides i have a stable. y go for easy money, its not rewarding. mas maau igasto ug kwarta na imong g hago-an, at least hinlo imong konsensya. hehehehehe.

    @styM

    i respect your opinion.

    im from iGEN myself.

if you checked the producst in the store the price is the same as those you see in the mall.
if you load your phone through retailers outside the mall, we also have load.
if you buy groceries in SM, we also have groceries.
you get a discount card, that you won't get anywhere else.

regarding the points though, don't you think it would be better to purchase from a store that gives you something in return other than purchase from somewhere which actually offers nothing?

this is what we are looking forward to in iGEN Cebu, (which is actually happening now in Manila), a store as big as MACRO, that sells almost all goods we purchase everyday, where in we can earn points so we can save and earn.
    don't you want that?

    that's VISION

well when that happens, SM and ayala has got to do something to keep their customers.

hay! there's so many things that iGEN plans on doing for the benefit of THE CONSUMERS.
if people just think of it that way, other than think na gi ilad sila.
of course kung kwartahay lang, that's one GOAL of a company man jud oi,
    to make money.
i don't know pero networking has this negative connotation najud na we can't seem to let go.
basta ako im up for the discount card, the points, the GCs, even the referral bonuses, the products, the system... etc.
    ambot makabuang! hay iGEN power!

if you don't agree then that's your problem. i dont care!

    Hello to all:

I have been following this topic for over a week now and its really surprising how people react to network marketing, in a postive or negative way. well anyway here is my say and i hope this might help.

I agree with lordzarkhan and j_ybanez' point. In my own research and study, i have found out that there is no networking company using binary scheme that lasted five years. Maybe FQ is somewhere there, but right there and then when the government threatend to close them down, they immediately changed their marketing plan, however it seems to me that its really just the same and i doubt if they can recover back their rep**ation if ever there is any.

here are some points to ponder.

    1) if a MLM company is using a binary system (points or not)... be wary... that is a sign that it might be a scam.

    2) check if you get your investments worth. example: if you invest Php10,000. you should get Php10,000 worth of products also (trainings, insurance, discount coupons and every thing else should be absolutely free). products should be worht the amount of your investment.

    3) check where do you earn. if you earn from recruiting then again be wary... legitimate MLM companies earn from product movement and not from recruit.

    4) for point system binary network marketing. investigate this kind of scheme. ask your self this. " if i were to earn Php1,000 without recruiting and by just selling the companies products, how many points should i get? example: if you have to accumulate 300 points for you to have Php1,000 commision, how much do i have to sell to earn the 300 points?

to make this a bit clearer let us take a look at one of the upfront point system scam here in cebuĀ* for example:

    600 points = Php1,000

    2 points = Php500

so if Php500 is only 2 points then for me to have 600 points i need to sell or buy Php150,000 worth of products for me to have a commision of Php1,000 (hehehehe now isnt this ridiculous?)

maypa tempura business nalang ko kay sa Php120 nga pack of tempura, ako ginansya kay Php100 pa. so para maka Php1,000 ako ginansya, mo palit lng ko ug 10 ka packs of tempura and that would only cost me Php1200

    i hope that made sense.

    5) check the track record, stability and credibility of the mother company (not its partners) example: Company X is partnering with levis, yes we know that levis is stable, credible and proven track record is there right? but how about Company X? is Company X credible, stable and have proven track record? you should check that. kay if ako ang Levis then naay mo partner nako na networking company... i surely would partner with that company kay even if ma down or ma daut ang rep**ation sa Company X, madaot ba gud akong levis company? no! dli dba?

    6) and my God, be wary of those who show you cheques. i mean do you really have to show cheques to convice people to join? for me, id rather be shown how excellent the products na gi business kay i know money would surely come in.

    7) and finally there are several networking companies out there that doesnt use binary system. no safety net, no pairing, no daily, weekly or monthly limit... no flushing. great products, proven track record, global, stable and credible... so why not take a look at this other MLM companies?

MLM is a great business to be in, there is no question about it. we just have to concern ourselves which MLM company should we partner with.

    I hope this helps.

    @ate_debz :
yes pwede ka palit nila ug products para maka points ka. pero mo adto pako sa inyong retail outlet.
naa may country mall or ayala or sm na duol ra sa amo-a. hehehehehe. i think the products and point system is just a front for a networking business. hehehehe.

I checked out the grocery products of Igen....They are no where as complete as MetroAyala....walay variety....ang presyo gamay ra imo ma save kay wala silay mga other products na gamit kaayo sa balay...

Sakto to si cebuboybax....misleading mana mo ingon sila partner nila ang San Miguel....Ni palit ra mana sila sa products at wholesale price nya ila i-butang sa outlet nila....Mao na dira....
