That’s how Seisouhen ended. The anime still had the same ending the manga had.

Artistically, Seisouhen is a beautiful work of art. But almost everything in it just doesn’t count as a part of the RRK franchise. Watsuki even expressed his disapproval in Seisouhen’s content. Technically, Seisouhen is a fanwork.

Nobody knows. Details of the new RRK anime are said to be announced on August 20 (2 days nalang!). But I doubt it will be a remake like FMA and HxH had. (see my post above)

The production company Aniplex confirmed on Saturday that the previously announced new Rurouni Kenshin anime series will be a two-part Shin Kyoto-Hen (New Kyoto Arc) original video anime series. The first part will play in Japanese theaters in December.

The new anime series will remake the Kyoto story arc of Nobuhiro Watsuki's original manga and the previous anime adaptation. Director Kazuhiro Furuhashi and Studio DEEN are returning to animate the new series along with musical composer Noriyuki Asakura. Mari Okada (AnoHana, Wandering Son) is writing the scripts this time. Hiromitsu Hagiwara (Saint Beast ~Ikusen no Hiru to Yoru Hen~) is the new character designer, and Hiro Kaburaki (Kimi ni Todoke) will take over as the episode director. The cast will remain the same except for the role of Hajime Saitō, who will be played by Ken Narita.

The title is "Shin Kyoto Hen (New Kyoto Chapter)" and it'll be a large-scale remake of the battle against Shishio from Misao's point of view.

Really? Misao's POV? How can that be? She wasn't even with Kenshin and Sano when they fought Shishio. Maybe we'll see Misao's battle against the Juppongatana that happened at the same time Kenshin and Sano fought Shishio --no. I think I know why it'll be focused on Misao.

Apparently, Misao is the only moe character in RRK. In this moe generation, it's only natural to focus on moe... nice.

Kamatari: We are the juppongatana. Oppose us and you will die!

Misao: Kyun kyun! ( ﾟ∀ﾟ)ｷｭﾝｷｭﾝ!

RRK also had the best opening and ending themes ever. Nostalgia plays a big part in appreciating this new anime, so I think it would be best if they provide the same 90s sound RRK fans loved.

I couldn't agree more. I still remember how i would record their songs through caveman ways (cassette tapes and shit hahaha). Fcking nostalgia burst. T-T
