i always tell people for beginners, ALWAYS GO NIKON, they have helpful systems and footnotes INSIDE THE CAMERA, press the question mark button and it will tell you what function your currently on.

if you feel the camera is limiting you can always upgrade to a better camera, but always always go for the cheap nikon ones, either a d3000 or d5000, you;ll be glad you saved money

Canon is ruthless, there is no graphic interface, and its all just numbers and dials, very intimidating for a newbie.

You don't really need those fancy graphic aids a week or so of using your cam. But I like your comment hehehe

for newbies its helpful, the seeing an aperture open and close, and examples of what you want to shoot on the display depending on the mode, will definitely help newbies appreciate it, Nikon had that in mind, everyone starts from the beginning.

Nikon is like a bike with training wheels, here let us guide you on your way to becoming a professional, get started here, we'll tell you everything you need to know about your cam inside your cam.

Canon is like a pilot in a helicopter that jumps out mid flight leaving you to fend for yourself, and just to say they werent sympathetic they throw the manual onto your lap.

i have tried both, im not bias or anything but it is fun to watch newbies struggle with canon, and claim photographer status only to see their dial is still set to auto.

the fancy graphics on a nikon can be turned off and can be set to a classic mode just to look like a canon

i dont hate canon, i just dont like it for newbies

    Hahahaha. LOL.

So, mao pud diay gi-set sa Nikon ilang crop factor to 1.5x (as compared to Canon's 1.6x)
para dali ra ma-compute sa mga newbies? :P

your budget is 30k...hinayhinayi nalang na ug tigum miss para maigo then get the d90 or d5000 for nikon or 50d for canon aron kausa ra ba...di jud ka magmahay, kay maparehas unya ka naku 2 months pa lang, gibaligya na ang d3000 kay medyo nabitin ko sa mga features...labi na ganahan na kaayo ka magkat-on pag ayo...ayaw pag rush have a little patience..

I strongly agree, Nikon is like a bicycle, canon is like a pilot. see the difference? Uhmmm... I think so. Anyway, basta pasabot ani kay newbies, kung mag bike mo, pag Nikon, kung pilot ka, pag Canon.

rephrase: Kung newbie ka, pag Nikon. And when your off the newbie category, then drop by buy and sell section, post your camera gear and get ready to join the Canon team.

i have tried both, im not bias or anything but it is fun to watch newbies struggle with canon, and claim photographer status only to see their dial is still set to auto.
I totally agree. I'm not bias haaa.. but it is fun to watch newbies enjoy Nikon and claim photographer status only to see their dial is still set to auto

    - Yes, proof of the transition the Nikon developers had in mind. For newbies, they have the easy mode with all the graphics you will love. As you gain experience, you'll have to get ready for the switch. So turn off the graphics and get familiar with Canon interface. This is a good point ladies & gents. Don't forget this if you ever want to grow out of the newbie status

i dont hate canon, i just dont like it for newbies
    I totally agree

    background:
I'm a happy Canon user. Yes, Canon jumped off the helicopter leaving me with the manual and now I can fly a helicopter. Others must have been shocked and traumatized by the experience they ended up with a bicycle with balancer wheels.

    PS
I had a bicycle with balancer wheels too but got rid of it for a diamondback bmx. Mao ra pud to sikat sa una hap. I know daghan nindot karon.
