MSI GeForce GTX 460 HAWK gets pixelized
Oh dear, a little birdie just flew in with some information and photo's. Looks like the MSI GeForce GTX 460 Cyclone release was just a prologue. As you guys know the GeForce GTX 460 is a big success in terms of value for money. On launch date we have seen a couple of customized boards already.
The originally clocked 675MHz product overclocks well, Roughly 800 MHz is very normal and with a little voltage tweaking 900 MHz is manageable. I just received a screenshot and PCB photo though of the MSI GeForce GTX 460 HAWK edition.
This product will come with a custom PCB, from the looks of it follows the Military class component selection with the supa-dupa chokes and quality capacitors. The card comes with a single SLI connector thus allowing 2-way SLI and has two 6-pin power connectors to obtain its running juice from.
If you look at the tiny connectors to the right, these are voltage monitor points where you can tap voltage lines like GPU and memory. Though unconfirmed I can already say that the cooler will come with the TwinFrzr II cooler.
notice that this card has eight chips thus is the slightly more difficult to overclock 32 ROPs 1024MB version.
The second screenshot shows that this product is reaching a 1000 MHz core frequency and 2000 MHz shader clock frequency already, that's a pretty gnarly overclock alright. We can't wait to have this product in the lab once it will be released. Latest rumors indicate late August / early September.
