But that's what most people and even the scientists would claim. If a certain dog breed were prone to a particular genetic disease, there is a big chance that its offspring will 'benefit' or inherit that disease.

your premise man gud sa imu previous post was breeding dogs of the same line/breed... mao imu ingun mas advisable ang crossbreeding... was that what you meant sa imu previous post? thats why i answered nga by definition, thats not inbreeding.

as to sire-pup mating.. thats precisely inbreeding.. and it is bad irregardless same breed or not (or aspin).

pure breeds have no monopoly of passing genetic defects to its offsprings... even crossbreeds can. that is why if one has a defective dog, he should not be breeding it anymore, to avert passing these bad traits.

this issue i believe is entirely of different topic... its a continuing debate and whatever sides we'll chose, i dont think we can competently discuss and give justice here... this is aside from the fact im not familiar with gsd's standards.

that's why i used earlier the term 'greater' risk or chance... and that is for purebreeds.
whereas for crossbreeds, lesser chance to inherit the disease... according to my readings...

I'm just using an example here... that's why we don't allow siblings, i.e., human beings, to marry. For me, it's not really about morality or religion... it is about health or genetic issue.
