Being a physicist myself, I love math. I love equations as do others. haha! When I read a book or article, I love seeing equations. Its like like they are telling a story.

Here's a little brain teaser. How do you solve for x? hehe
    cos(x)=x^3

    [^ - to the power]

    try nako ha

    cos(x) = X^3
    x=(x^3)/cos
    x/x^3=1/cos
    1/x^2=1/cos
    therefore; x = (cos)^1/2

    korek?

    tingali nangita ka ug proof.
    kanus-a ba mahitabo kung ang cos (x) = x

When does Cos X = X. I want a "proof" please, I know it is at .739085133 radians but dont know "why". - Yahoo! Answers
hehe! Cos here is the short for trigonometric function Cosine. More here
I thought most people might know this or maybe you are just joking. hehehe! Anyway, having said this, of course, the solution is invalid.

Based sa akong experience, the only way to solve this is by numerical means especially by iterative methods. You make a guess solution and then the iterate again and again and you will arrive at the correct solution. Here's one method. Newton's method - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

To my knowledge, there is probably no formal proof for this but I could be wrong.

This occurs a lot in physics whether in theoretical, experimental or applied physics or in engineering. Most solutions to problems can not really be solved analytically (derive2x) and require numerical solutions or simulations as some would like to call it.

they need sampling for values of X.
    thanks sa info sir.

Ahhhh, mao diay importante kaayo ang numerical methods labi na ug daghan na kaayo ang mga variables...
