what specific brand ang 8.1 soundcard? AFAIK one of the best choices for HTPC soundcards is creative X-fi Plat and it supports only 7.1 never heard of 8.1 soundcard, naa nabay 8.1 nga HT system ug audio standards ana ??

bai scs200.6 ra man ni ako but it still good...ive heard reviews about choosing a speaker system na THX certified also sa av receivers nimo...and match it with high-end cables..i think sayang sad ug di paresan nimog nice cables and rca's imong high-end AV set-up...some denon av receivers feature a self-calibration set-up...btw..for that budget i'm going for Denon...sound calibration for your home theater is a problem sab if you do not know how it works...manual calibration using SPL (sound pressure level) or dB meter is a bit tiring...although...i know creative at sm charges you for that service...the more you know about home theater set-up the more complicated it will go...i hope you'd have enough pro help...goodluck :mrgreen:

just buy home theathers like yamaha maybe & couple it up with a nice speaker like infinity or B&W.just visit other forums like pinoydvd, theres a lot of info there as to how would you like it to be and how much will your budget be.ahehe

Actually i am also planning to have a mini home theater.. mini coz
i want it not so expensive but still function as of other theater. i have list of
components below and see if this is ok.

yamaha reciever rxv-363(5.1)
wharfe dale 9.6 speaker front, center and a sorround..

please provide me ideas im open to learn and hear it.
