.. look, Saudi Law is based on the Koran, and we all know that the Koran was wrought when people have little morals or should i say that their morals from then is very much different from ours. Personally, the only law i like is to pay a life with a life. If you killed someone, then you should be executed too.

.. with regards to filipina DHs being maltreated with their Boss, sadly, here in Taif, that is true and very much rampant and there are also DH who's sideline is prostitution, but hey, we can't blame them, their here for the money and if that's one way getting extra cash, then let them be. It's very hypocritical if you condemn them.

.. but one must keep in mind that Saudi is Saudi, it's not the philippines anymore. Saudi has it's own laws and regulations and WE MUST RESPECT THEM NO MATTER HOW STUPID THEY MAY BE TO US.

Neighbor nako, taga DRV man mi, mga 10 years na sila nag puyo sa Saudi, ala man problem lageh. Sayang lang dili niya madala ang iyang hapa2x nga yamaha yz... wiw... nice raba kau.

..i maybe just two months here in Taif, but my workmates arent. hehe.. I have here someone who has been working for 23 years, the other 20 years, my fellow doctor 10 years and my bestfriend doctor 6 years. And I have been asking them a lot of questions about the livelihood here in Taif and saudi in general, let's just say, i feel like i've been here for quite sometime now from listening to their experiences. Haven't you guys noticed that i always mention Taif ?? That's because each city has it's own subculture; Jeddah and Mecca and Medenna has their own subculture, which to them, most of the people ( arabs ) are educated and well mannered. Riyadh, well, you know it's the capital of Saudi, it's one of the most strict cities coz the King lives there. And the "western" cities of Al-khobar, Dammam, etc are "open country" as they say. But here in Taif, the people here are crazy, I have one arab patient who he himself can attest that Taif is the worst of all arab cities. That i can see, most of my patients are ignorant and uneducated, they don't know how to speak english and they are lazy.

.. but back to your concern that the law prefer to side on the Saudi, yes, that is true, here in taif anyway, i dont know about the other cities. They tend to mock and find fault on the expats, well, on public anyway. But as far as self experience is concerned, here in the clinic most of my patients respect me coz i'm a doctor, they are so polite and obedient, but when they talk to the salesman which is indian, they tend to change and become rude. I don't know what's up with that, maybe they really do discriminate the salesman in general and give respect to professionals.

.. if you have something against an arab make sure that you have HARD EVIDENCE, otherwise, the law will surely side on the arab. Just like the other day, my co-worker ( pinoy) had a car collision with an arab, it was very obvious on the sketch that the arab was at fault, but because my friend wears eyeglasses, the arab blamed my friend for having low vision and unfortunately for him, the police believed the story, but when my friend presented his I.D. that he was working for Hebah Optics, it's a very big optical chain here in taif, the police sided on my friend.

.. btw, thanks miramax for giving me a link to this thread. it really helps me sane. nyeheheheheh

In philippines, i dont think ang atong batas dira mo patay tao if iyang gikuha ang dignidad sa babae.
Think and open your eyes fully.
Peace...

But the question is nah rape jud kaha? basin nalimot namo sa case ni Nicole kato sa Subic?
Pakauwaw kaayo sa Pinas woi, a total disgrace to all Filipino women.

KAto na rape sa Tondo ug si Nicole way kalainan, they have one thing in common.
And you know what is that? Nakig-inum sila with boys , outdoors, then they go beyond their limit.
In the first place, why drink with men outdoors? ako moinom man sad jud ko with guys, pero moderate lang, kay maayog way buslot tawn.
Dat's why I do evrytym makigsocialize or jamming ko sa gawas.
Ang tendency man gud is we take risks yet we're not ready to face the consequences of the results of our own actions and we tend to blame or point the blame to others. WHY?

Bro, let's us just remind them lately sa Qatar incident where it was broadcasted over the world pa nga.
Those 2 Filipinas na kala mo kung sinong feeling ramp models guro, showing their skins in the mall and end up apprehended by Qatar authorities. Serves them right! Haleeeer? naa baya na sa PDOS Culture orientation concerning your country of destination.

Bro, in your own male's OFW opinion, I'm sure you will agree with me, na mas delikado ang Filipino maid sa middle east in terms of "level sa paglalalandi" compared sa mga Filipino professional women there.
Ang uban maid ako kaila sila pa gani manawag sa laki nga molabay sa karsada if wala diha ila amo, pasak-on pah ang laki sa balay sa amo, katkat kural, don't tell me grabeh ang biga noh? ( I myself is askin the same question, babaye man sad tah ko pero ambot lang jud)
Not to mention, pwerte pah makahatag ug load sa ilang mga esmerenghoy sa gawas para lang tawn mo tx.
But others doesn't have any single iota of idea that these are few activities of our fellow DH kababayans.

Or wa makasaksi unsay tinood nga mga panghitabo.

Bottomline, it's not about Saudi or any place in the middle-east, it's about how our kababayan's ; women in particular behave in a foreign country.
See, imu lan jud gipakita ang imu pagka Crab. hehe

    Peace..

Hinay2 bro, kinsa man kaha nato ang mas nakahibaw sa nahitabo diri? IKAW? nyahahaah!
Kasabot bah kah unsay pasabot anga Crab mentality bro? or basin Crab nga kasag ra imo nailhan? Read between the lines of my previous posts bro.
Sa Middle East walay bias ang balaod , last year one of the members of the Royal family and some other MP's were put on trial for corruption case kay ang mga members of the PArliament had presented a hard evidence , videos, night club bills against the culprits while having a business trip in Japan. Kabalo kah anhe bro? Wala noooh?

I'm sure again, wa sad tawn kay knowledge adto dong?

Ang media sa middle east are controlled by the gov't .labi nah ug mga gorrific na kaayo ang mga scenes of the crime dili parehas sa atua nga celebrated & sensatioanlized kaayo like Maguindanao massacre hemoan pagani ug DVD.

5 months ago, 5 Kuwaiti's we're arrested & faced a death penalty for simply putting up a conspiracy towards American camps here.Di bah American's are just expats in Kuwait?

Now let me ask you my dear, sa atua bah , mapersecute ug masilotan in due process ang mga corrupt nga gov't officials? Naay inyong Erap diha ug uban pang mga nasenstensyahan Honasan, Trillanes, etc. mangandidato pa man gani? Sa middle east probably , we must admit yes there is a discrimination between expats & citizens just like any other foreign country, but hey, don't you tell me na walay discrimination sa U.S.?
    C'mon!
Like what i said, and I'll have to repeat this over & over again.
If you want speedy judicial system, we must adapt the gulf laws, particularly on henious crimes.
Bro, again, sakit man dawaton ang mga tinood nahitabo sa atong nasud, but, please, it's about time that you shud open your eyes to the reality, we all know that, at times, Reality bites jud.

    @ fingolfin,
Hang on there doc! Working in the middle east will really transform your life emotionally & spiritually and will enable you to grow more as an individual. You will discover a lot of things in your surroundings, your fellow kababayans. Mas sakit tan-awon bro imo kapwa kabayan maoy mobiktima sa iya kaugalingon kalahi.
Wait & see more & discover more.
If you are one teh type of nationalistic, there are circumstances taht you're gonna witness that will let you ask yourself, "Naunsa man tawn neh atong kababayan woi" Why do such, engage into such activities, etc.?

    FYI
I've been working here in the gulf for nearly 8 years now. And i'm not a nurse or a doctor yet I gained respect, because I earned it, from my fellow expats as well as from gulf citizens much as I gained respect from my Bisaya neighbors back in Cebu na pwerte ka mga suyaon, tsismosa, hilabtanon ug libakera.
My dad used to work in K.S.A. too as a Chief Engineer in a port when I was little.
