grrrr attacks are intensifying as hezzbolah and israel traded rockets and bombs today.. death tolls keep on rising and most of them are civilians.. and yep, because of the on-going violence hundreds and thousands of foreigners began to flee.. with this, philippines is also taking initiatives to take out filipinos from lebanon..

geez.. seems like im smelling another major world war.. or is it just me..

israel dont have much choice

pull out from gaza and other settlements as starting points for the road map to peace negotiations and PLO fatah reciprocate by influencing the many terrorist groups to stop or minimize terror bombing

= hamas got ellected though the fatah is perceive corrupt at least its leaders are commited in the peace road map
=hamas doctrine until now is not to recognize israel right to exist

what are the goals of hamas when it luanch a raid and killed and captured 1 IDF soldier?

er maybe to force israel to have some negotiaions to force it to recognize it as a legitimate government
after all it recognize the PLO-fatah of yasser arrafat considered before in the 1970s as an extreme terrorist.

a miscalculation for hamas though its expecting some sort low level of negotiations and low level retaliatory attacks (like destroying the house of the attackers which the israelis normaly do in bombers) it did not expect this kind of full blown conflict.

now comes the hezbollah episode from lebanon.....

hezbollah (an organization in the state of lebanon which is more powerful than the government itself of lebanon in some ways and headed by a shia cleric which has its own army and heavy weapons mostly supplied my syria and iran and impose shria law in the southern part of lebanon in contrast the state of lebanon is headed by a president ,PM and is a secular state had its own army and institution, the unated nations had Resolution 1559
for the disarming of this group but till now nothing is being done, the lebanon army disarming the hezbollah militia? cant be it more powerful than the lebanon army itself.

what are the objectives of the hezbollah militia by the cross border raid and capturing 2 IDF troopers

1)maybe as a form of leverage in the ongoing nuclear criisis in iran( one of its supplier of arms and money the other syria)

2)like hamas wants some form of legitimacy till now they are just considered as a terrorist by world powers

3)help hamas by opening a second front? exhausting and stretching israelis resources

4)maybe it dont want the peace map road by drawing the israelis to open war and could make the arabs united and finaly invade and destroye the israel?? higly unlikey

5)any more speculation?? im tired thinking XD

by the way the israelis is one of the fews in the world to have modern conventional armed forces and had nuclear capablility,except for the small carriers of france and britain it could rival or surpass them militarly.

let's not pretend that just because "A soldier is kidnapped then you bomb cities?" is the case here, it's much bigger, deeper and more complicated than that. this conflict between Israel and the Arab countries has been ongoing for hundreds upon hundreds of years already. I, for one, don't really know how it started but as far as I can recall, I already saw pictures of this same conflict when I was a kid browsing thru Time and Newsweek at my grandpa's house looking at pictures of tanks, guns and planes owned by countries from that region and that was even before I was in gradeschool.

the action by Hezbollah in kidnapping a couple of Israeli soldiers maybe the straw that broke the camel's back. daily suicide bombings for decades, atrocities commited on both Israeli's and the Jews almost everyday are just some of the actions done by Hamas and Hezbollah to instigate the Israeli's into firing back and retaliating. maybe this time they (Hamas / Hezbollah) succeeded. Israel eventually gave in. but to insinuate that "A soldier is kidnapped then you bomb cities?, Naapakan lang ng paa, giyera na" is just unfair. don't make it sound like you were just born yesterday and when you read the news, you'd suddenly retort "gi kidnap ra, bomba dayon?" tsk tsk

I wont buy the line that Israel has been oppressed or threatened. In fact since the last Arab Israeli War, more Palestininans are killed than the Israelis. Israelis used tanks against Palestinians who only have stones to fight back. How many Palestinian homes are destroyed by Israeli incursions in Gaza and Southern Lebanon long before this latest battles erupted? Now since the time Israel has been using unjustified force on its neighbors, is the world safer than before? Israeli high handedness always stoke the fires of Islamic militancy across the Muslim world.
