Jimmy Page vs. Ritchie Blackmore

Having been fortunate to see both of them on stage, i would say Blackmore was the better all around guitarist. His presence on stage was different to Page. Both were great guitarists but there were plenty others. Page was a great showman but if you ask any of the modern day guitarists who was their main influence on their style of play, a lot will say Blackmore.

But Gallagher was better than either of them!!!!!

Both are great in their own rite... How many songs that Page wrote do you know of and... how many Blackmore? I rest my case on the song writing part. Both are kinda sloppy in todays standards but INVENTED what we know now as rock guitar along with other greats. Steve Howe George Thoroughgood, Schoen of Journey and Stevie Ray who can play incredible jazz as well. Hendrix was asked once... "How does it feel to be the greatest rock guitarist alive"?
And he answered: "I don't know. Ask Billy Gibbons" (ZZ Top) Don't let their slow songs fool you. The guy can blow way up there with Satch n Vai. He just doesn't present himself that way on albums. Allan Holdsworth Alvin Lee. Speed is just 1 part of playing. No feelings... no guitarist na lang.
