i feel so at home with this topic. i'm an atheist and my girlfriend used to be a member of El Shaddai. her mom, on the other hand, is a hardcore El Shaddai fanatic (prayer meetings, bible study, choirs, etc). we once broke up because my "unbelief" was "causing some unfortunate events" to happen in her life (malas). i think it is irrational and unfair to blame someone for your personal mishaps because he "does not believe". other than that, my gf and i get along pretty fine except on matters of religion, superstition, and GOD. i guess you have to maintain a level of respect with each other which defies the boundaries of faith.

I don't see the issue here. It doesn't matter if your partner believes in God or not.As long as there is trust and llvoe in your relationship then it should be all good.

Does it really matter? Most atheist I know just go with the flow visit the church sometimes to listen to the priest or pastor.

But for me the pastor was less boring one.

lol... a lot of people seem to think atheists can be converted into theism. Not possible. I've spent three long relationships with guys who came from religious backgrounds. None of them tried to convert me coz they know it will never happen. I'm lucky they weren't religious fanatics and respected me well enough to never even bother talking about religion. If I have to choose though, I would rather date someone who's an atheist just so I won't have to deal with all the religious crap people do everyday.
