fishing is as cheap or as expensive as you want it to be...im not in cebu or the philippines anymore but i do have a lot of contacts there...

if ur from cebu and want to go fishing there, i would suggest you go to this site...

depends on what you want to fish for really, remember that cebu is pretty much surounded by water. there are those pay for fish ponds in liloan (abella's pond) and one in tagunol (wetland park) you catch bangus in abellas's pond, not tilapia as earlier stated in one of the threads here. in wetland, you can catch catfish, carp, tilapia, snakehead (halwan) and if you know what you're doing, barramundi (local name for that is bulgan)

theres the cebu yacht club, where the philipine dream is is moored (now the philippine nightmare), but in order to access that place, you need to be a member of the cebu angler's foundation. go to chris sports ayala and ask the counter for the application forms...

the beaches of cebu HAVE fish. believe it or not, when i was still in cebu, i used to catch a lot of fish from shore...the point of punta engaño in mactan is worth a try, though its tough to fish there, you need to walk by the way, you drive your car till the end of the road, there should be a chapel at the end of the road, park your car there and walk all the way to the tip...

the mandaue port is an option, though theres not that much to catch there...coral reef is one place you can try as well, i think they charge a few bucks for you to enter the place (P50/person i think), there are cliffs there that you could fish from, its the quickest access to deeper water from shore in mactan.

fishing the beaches of liloan will produce some small fish...as well as the liloan bridge...

my advise is to get in touch with the guys behind Cebu Anglers Foundation (CAF) they always share expenses on trips so theres less to spend on, and they always share locations with each other...
