IMO, it is completely unethical to be friends with the ex. It is uncomfortable to talk about your current relationship with your former lover thinking that you've been together for quite some time.

Past is past. The former lover is a mere memory. I'd like it to put that way. Burn bridges, baby!!! Boo Yah!
