The Catholic Church eventually wrote things down and collected the older Hebrew scriptures (which Jesus used, by the way). After some time, it declared that certain books were Inspired and collected them into the Bible. So without the Catholic Church there would be no Bible.

Its the Holy Spirit will guide you. Everytime Councils are conducted and important doctrinal decisions will be made, the Catholics pray for enlightenment that the the Holy Spirit will guide them to the right decision and discernment.

Vatican slams ordination of Chinese bishops


VATICAN CITY - The Vatican said Thursday that the ordination earlier this week of two Chinese bishops without its approval was a "serious violation of religious liberty."

Vatican spokesman Joaquin Navarro-Valls demanded that Chinese authorities respect the freedom and autonomy of the Roman Catholic Church, which says it is the only body that can make such decisions.

In a strongly worded statement, the spokesman said the ordinations had done "serious injury to the unity of the Church." Bishops and priests had come under "strong pressure and threats" to take part in the outlawed ordinations, he said.

The statement also warned that the offenses carried the risk of "severe canonical sanctions.�

"Bishops and priests have been subjected to strong pressure and threats from authorities outside of the Church, so that they would take part in the episcopal ordinations which, being without a pontifical mandate, are illegitimate," Navarro-Valls said.

The Vatican statement said various clergy in China had resisted similar pressures, while others were forced to submit "with great internal suffering."

"Espisodes of this kind produce wounds not only in the Catholic community but also in the personal conscience of the person," said Navarro-Valls.

"It is a serious violation of religious liberty," despite the "pretext" that the ordinations of the two bishops was "a dutiful act to provide a pastor to vacant dioceses," he said.

chinese authoritues should should have been respectful to Vatican with regard to this matter. After all, Vatican is a sovereign state, the Holy See.

Anyway, I think communists have no business ordaining priests and consecrating bishops. They have no authority on that. They have no competence on that. Only God, through the Holy Roman Pontiff, is given the divine mandate to consecrate people to religious life.

Guidance of the holy spirit? Yes! Anybody could claim that.
God's will? Yes again! anybody could say that.

Any human being, or others call it homo sapiens, out from his/her limited knowledge and understanding could say that he/she is doing god's will or being guided by the holy spirit.
We all only have limited capacity to understand. We haven't even gone to the edge of our galaxy.

In the time of Herod, will you not be worshiped as god or otherwise called a devil or an alien if you carry a Nokia N90 and riding an ATV all the way to golgotha to witness the crucifixion?
Or maybe riding a helecopter and hovering over jerusalem during that time?


My point here is respect. Let's respect each other's beliefs.

You will answer to your every deed in front of your God, that is if you believe there is God.

You reminded me of apostle Thomas. "unless I can touch the wounds in his hands and on his side I will not believe him." Its a different mindset if you are a man of faith compared to a cynic.

Cynic believe they can explain everything. They thought they are more wiser than God. May I ask you, who gave you intelligence? Can you produce yourself? Can you make yourself exists on your own effort? Can you will things to happen on your own will?
