all because of greed (more IRA shares)...tsk, tsk. paka-uwaw lng sa people.
and who will lose because of this greed? the constituents. the leaders gave them false hope. what more, unsaon nlng tong mga yuta nga na-appraised ang value higher na. ibalik sa provincial price? i don't think so.
i say let them resign as heads of LGU's.

^^^kung mahimo man gud nga syudad ang usa ka municipality, everything increases from the salaries and perks of the LGUs to the IRA shares they get from the national gov't to the appraised value of lots, that's why.
with cityhood, you also get more political power.

I talked to some people about this and read more info in the papers today. I'm sure people behind charter are trying to solve issue, they can certainly appeal, they may have the senate looking into this as well.
Although an important fact is the amendment of RA 9009 regarding annual income requirment of city from 20 million to 100 million, that both CarCar and Naga were filed prior to approval of amendment, to add to that when all cities were filed they had some sort of clause that held exempt the amendment.
So I guess lets see if that clause stands, also it wasnt clear if the remaining cities filed prior to ammendment.
In the coming days its interesting to see the facts and then decide
But yes there are both sides of the coin when becoming a city and I hope the people behind Charter had the people in mind being a public servant.

unsaon man nga wala man ka met sa required income sa usa ka city....wala man kaabot ug 100 million..
so dili gyud pwede ka support sa sweldohanan sa mga government employee...nga bag ong department nga gibutang..like DepEd division...UG uban pa...
