Hi tynum, gemcadz and the rest...
I will strongly disagree to you this time...
There are a lot of valuable things you learn in college especially in knowing some peers that along side of your life, will soon meet or working in the same field. Don’t try to hide yourself from pressures whether you like it or not, you have to dealt on this…
Even though I seldom come to class before, because of the needs and other priorities like doing some extra jobs to support my studies, but if I’m giving a chance, I rather focus my studies and master some things that I wanted to…
I have a strong passion doing some hardware stuff, but I failed to succeed (right now and before) because of some opportunities like programming and AutoCAD designs, was one of my good source of income that time, and one of the reason why I’m here…
Overcoming the pressure and lack of interest (I hate drawings duh!?) How I hated my school before, upon sending me to various competition which winning a GOLD MEDAL cannot feed my hungry stomach.
I was wrong, I met someone back then, who opened me some good opportunities at the end... Sooner or later this may probably happen to you as well… We likely doing some programming stuffs in our LIFE but the most difficult thing is we don’t have such Debugging, Unit testing and Revisions.
You less to find some good jobs if you will not able to get some DEGREE not unless you are lucky enough to have your own business. (it's case to case basis, favorable to this situation I guess)
Most of the government’s in other countries are very strict when it comes to hiring process… they often say why would you hired someone that we have TALENTED, EDUCATED and HIGHLY SKILLED local people who can do the job?
To be honest I haven’t learn much from my teachers, I just have their encouragement and appraisals (which made me stronger and tough), I remember they told me, that if they going to select who will climbed on the stage, I’m the first one as their choice… I got plenty of 3.0 just barely enough to pass… but that doesn’t count… for the hardwork I spent cannot easily be beaten by any ordinary student. I love my college life... coz what a LIFE hehehehe...
“Just show me a thoroughly successful man, and I show you a failure..”
Your peers,
Mark
believe me i know where you are coming from mark. i wasn't implying that people should stop going to school and not receive their diplomas. i was merely stating the fact that I myself am not a degree holder. Maybe its just stroke of luck but somehow I managed to work for the past 3 years in the field where I know I am good at and at the same time I have the passion to excel.
bai mark... in my opinion lang ha...
people get pressured if they are doing something that is not of their interest.. they tend to go against the flow.... so when you like what you are doing.. you are being productive and also enjoying urself... so why do the unwanted stuffsi know that there are valuable things you can learn in college... but there are just more invaluable or unnecessary stuffs that pressures your TRUE learning in college(school)...
about jobs... i think its the same if you have a diploma or not... unless kung MAGNA ka... but if not... its the matter of talking THE TALKS and skills... mostly SKILLS... naa ko amigo na wala ga iskwela... peru maau kaau in computers... into PHISHING, WEB development, EXPLOITING online games and many more... ka edad ra mi bro peru daku kaau amo gap sa among na learn... ang kulang nlng jud nya kay talking THE TALK na lang jd... den d man sad xa ganahan mag work... naa ra na siya sa balay nya doing his own projects... like now iya project kay anime streaming website... i think asian otako or anime otako... d ko xur kay nka limot ko... what i want to say is that its a matter of SKILLS AND WITS... not PAPER
about this bro... “Just show me a thoroughly successful man, and I show you a failure..” a successful man is never successful when he didn't fail... if he didn't... how come nkahibaw xa na successful xa?? i mean we all fail at certain times of our life... that's what we are good of.. coz where humans....
PEACE BRO... OPINION RA NA HA... matod pa sa akong maestra...
there are no wrong opinions... hahahah..
At gemcadz and tynum,
I understand and respect your point of view…
That’s why it’s case to case basis… but if we going to count it in general… School is still the best place to learn.
My Idea is:
1. There are some people who can afford to go to school and yet don’t have such interest to do so… coz they think and righteously can do things and prefer to manage on their own.
2. There are people who are unfortunate, that even buying their basic needs cannot pay, and they would more likely to land some blue collar jobs or may undergo such handful work before they can finally improved their lifestyle.
3. There are people who are unfortunate, and yet manage to develop their skills, and think of such wise decision to make. They struggle enough to send their self to school while supporting their own family way back home… Hoping that someday, things might change… and indeed… it was… if it wasn’t… I’m sure in someway or another he got something to be proud of…
Well, this excludes to those people who are fortunate to have money and time to go to school and yet, don’t have such so-called “HARDWORK” to live their life at ease.
YES! there might be so many unnecessary stuffs in schools that pressures a student! but how would he manage a real life pressure that even in school he cannot handle? which indeed, LIFE got tons of unwanted stuffsso why do the unwanted stuffs![]()
cheers...
bro na OT na ta.... so last say na ni nku.....
PRESSURE is always around... whether your into school or not... whats important bout it, is you learn from those experiences... so one way or another...... we learn... we learn how to cope up with the pressure around us....
at first i thought school was so important and is a must to finish it.... but now i think that people now a days are so controlled by society's demands... that they are pushed to learn what they don't want to learn... the society even pressures them and makes them think that they need to graduate to achieve something in their life... they've been brainwashed for money.... people often forget that school isn't the only way to learn... don't deprive urself by just going to school.. explore and experience outside the school for it gives you better understanding than just sitting down in your chair and talk while the teacher is talking(this is happening most of the time in school)... dont stick to the society's plan for you... make your own LIFE PLAN... just make xur its a good plan..... basin mag terrorista sad nya mo.... mag program mo ug firmwares na i embed sa mga robots na mu kamikazee kung mka kita ug amerkano..... hahahaha...
thats all thnx....
hehe this thread is really off the tracks now.
bottomline, your passion determines what course you should take... and i'm not just talking about college degrees.
