First contact center in Cebu sets jobs fair
THE first contact center to operate in the country and in Cebu will be holding its first major jobs fair on Nov. 6, Thursday, at the Ayala Center Cebu.
“The jobs fair aims to draw a pool of talented workforce from Cebu and Mandaue, as well as from neighboring cities such as Bacolod, Iloilo, General Santos, Cagayan de Oro, Davao and other provinces,” according to a statement by Sykes Asia.
Sykes, located at KRC Commercial Building 1, Subangdaku, Mandaue City, is now expanding to serve its current and new customers.
Interested contact agents must have the talent to build customer service relationships, as contact agents or call agents provide customers with real-time solutions on both product- and service-related inquiries ranging from simple to complex issues.
Some agents are also considered technical support specialists, who provide end-users with in-depth technical assistance.
Contact centers are organizations that provide large companies with customer interaction services such as customer care, technical support and advisory services, as well as outbound customer campaigns such as telemarketing and sales services for a fee.
Florida-based Sykes is the first contact center to operate in the country. The global company provides customer management solutions and services to companies primarily in technology, consumer, communications and financial services markets.
Sykes now has over 14,000 employees worldwide at over 40 customer support centers and fulfillment centers with operations throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa.
Sykes Asia Inc.’s Philippine operations continue to expand with four customer contact centers in Manila and Cebu.
Sykes general manager and call center director Cherry Durano earlier said Sykes Cebu will need up to 1,000 employees this year to serve its clients.
