For me BREEDS does matter . You dont want a guard dog in the form of a CHIHUAHUA and a toy dog for the house in the form of a GREAT DANE . Speaking of ASKAL ( native dogs ) they will always be for me the ultimate MANS BEST FRIEND . They can function as a toy dogs and guard dogs hehehe .

Some dogs are very outgoing like the beagle you must be like a very exoerienced dog handler to own a beagle since this types of dogs demands activities and outdoor chasing most of the time.

I think These dogs preffer to have an owner who hunts wild animals from outdors.

My beagle constantly bash our fences in order to get out and many times our fence got broken due to the dog.

@akari: my neighbour owns a beagle and dili jud cya langasan, in fact, mas langas pa gani akong shih tzu hehehe, but maybe that's true generally speaking...

i think a dog's temperament can be somewhat controlled by its handler, owing to the fact that dogs are tamed animals. Just my 2 cents

Naa gyud hunting instincts ang Beagles no? Even my cross-bred beagle-spitz shares similar attributes with that of a pure breed...
