Fellow istoryans, ayaw lang kalagot dinhe. Peace tang tanan.

There is a problem at our school.... more than 10 years na. Its still there even if the school board was informed. They would not act on it kay isolated issue ra. Also, if they act on it, it would make a negative impact on its prestine image. And whats worse, the educators that accept 'donations' are still there. Good business siguro.

Daghan Sacred hearter bright, smart, intelligent but daghan pud gong gong. Apil nako ana kay bayad man pod my dad. But I dont want that to happen to my kids. Kay wla nako'y pang bayad extra.

I hope my kids will not suffer/ encounter the same fate as my dad and I did.

bro, it's all too familiar. generations in a family go to this school. they're after the heavy emphasis on academics and the prestige. ateneo baya padulngan.

hahaha i love this thread; brings back memories--tons of it.

all i can say is that if stinks upstairs then you bet your ass the shit has burst out of the tank below. what i mean is: if it happens at the highest level of our government then it also occurs at the most basic level of our society. and schools are no exception.

but let's not fight it head-on. we'll surely lose that way. what we can do is to teach our kids. let's not pin all our hopes to an institution that we know is run by human beings. as such, that institution is always flawed and subject to errors.

let's teach our kids to be smart, not just intelligent; to learn what not to follow as much as (if not more than) what should be followed; to be principled; to have hopes and dreams--and work hard for them the proper way.

it's just sad that no one from inside has yet done anything to remedy the situation. but who knows, the solution could already be forthcoming.

the best thing i got out of shs was not my grades or the prestige (blah blah) but my experience--both the good and the not-so-good. at least shs taught me how to think for myself. i have the school to thank for that.

    my humble opinion,
