Kung mag marine mo how do you plan to sustain the saltwater? mag sigi ka ug palit ug seasalt mix? Or mag sigi ka ug balik balik sa dagat?

I think you can make do without chillers and uber expensive lights but you cant make do without a protein skimmer. Skimming, if im not mistaken, completes the nitrogen cycle or at least removes nitrogen wastes from the water. In nature, when seawater splashes into the shoreline, the process of skimming takes place. The skimming process is a special property of saltwater and brackish water only but lets not get into the dirty details .

    Planted marine tanks anyone?
Or brackish water na lang. I read somewhere that you can acclimate the ocellaris anemone fish (nemo) into brackish water.

Guys thanks for the reply. Yeah I been to this Alvin's shop before in Ayala.

Anyway, 2 years ago, I was planning to set up. I was a member of a forum that is all about marine aquariums. Alvin told me that chiller is needed gyud. But I asked didto sa forums, everyone(US, Asia, Europe members) said you dont need it, I said na gikan ko Phils. - tropical climate. They said it is still not needed unless my room is boiling hot.

They said mas useful pa ang heater. Wala ko na dayon set up sa marine tank 2 years ago, cuz I decided to get a PS2 and a new dog instead. But now(after the WWE tour), I plan to have one.

Anyway what I learned sa forums before, advice sa mga pro for marine tanks-

Skimmer is a must! 1 will do, but 2 is better.
Make sure you got live rocks!(leave it 2 weeks daw to form)
Do not use underground filters or those bubble things. Skimmers will do it for a marine tank.

    etc...

I thnk you need chillers if youre going for live corals.. i could be wrong though.

I dont know about that. Those in that forums I said above(Ill try to find that site again) gave me their setup and even shown pics, with corals and all, without mentioning the need of chillers.

It's the high-light requirement for coral to sustain thus the water temp rises from the light.. hence the need for a chiller to cool it down.
