After 6 months playing, na recover na nako ang cash nagasto nako on the game, karon I just need to practice and build up my cash so I can go to higher levels and start earning money, but dugay dugay pajud ni hehe. But no worries, with my current work right now I can wait.Originally Posted by lestat1116

Maybe someday kung confident na ko sa akong skills and I dont need to invest too much time on the books/forums Ill upgrade my computer kay maka tulo laway jud ang mga FPS ron
I used to play both online and fps game. And i guess FPS game needs more skill than online games. You only need to level up and hunt for rare items or I say higher level armors and weapons so that you can tag your character as a "STRONG". But for fps game you need to enhance your skills so that you can kill and not be killed with 1 hit.
You better play solitaire if you are always killed with 1 hit.

And btw, before you shove your own definition of "pro gamer" down our throats, do please take note that this thread is about "Professional Gamers" and not "Pro gamers" ok?

Hmmmm... here is my take and i shall take it from my own exp.
We have won a couple of Pan-Asia Tournaments and ASEAN competitions for BF2142 last time. With that, we are able to get some sponsorships from RAZER and able to get price money and free gadgets from them... STILL we consider ourselves as SEMI-PRO Gamers. Now unto COD4 we do have a weekly LAN training with my clan and we are sponsored by some individuals in and out of our clan... STILL we consider our selves SEMI-PRO...
how can u then consider yourself as a pro-gamer then? Google these persnalities: Fatal1ty, Rocketboy, Team dignitas and others... Check out some korean Starcraft players... basically when you see a brand that is ironed into your uniforms then thats one step of pro-gamers. next is the competition and winning them just to show that you are indeed worth. Overall these brands sponsor you... pay you, to represent them cos by doing so they will benefit from your fanbase if there is any.
I believe that most of people play MMORPG etc etc... and make money out from it... no biggie... yes its good that you earn money from what you enjoy but honestly to call yourself a professional gamer is not what you are... sorry to say but seems that you are just one of those people trying to milk a 15 y.o. boy having a hard time getting an item cos his parents wont let him play the game the wholeday and ends up buying the item from you instead... I have a personal friend that even goes to mongolia and russia for vacation on what he earned from MMORPG sales and yet he laughs his ass out cos he knows he is just milking the cow.

EDIT:
No offense to the pro-gamer wannabies.
EDIT2:
Pro gamers == Professional gamers, stop nitpicking it means the same.
He earns it from sponsors and from the tournament he plays in... the money he got is not from a boy... they get it from a company that believes about mutual benefits.Originally Posted by rodsky

How do you define us who earn a REAL living by being in virtual worlds? Aren't we considered professional gamers as well? Second Life is so paradigm breaking, you cannot classify it into either an application, a game, an OS or a browser, and thus I can claim that I am a professional gamer because I make a living or "profession" inside a virtual world, and not some minor MMORPG player. Our company earnings are in the six-figure digits, so you cannot call that "milking the cow"--heck IBM has over 27 sims (servers) inside second life, worth over 10 million US dollars.Originally Posted by Da_RoCk
And don't say "oh but you do nothing all day but create stuff--you're working, not playing"...oh really? Here are two of my latest creations in Second Life...
Snapshots of my new M4, and my newly created ACU PASGT Helmet with sand goggles and IOTV body armor...somewhere in a desert sim in Secondlife.
So after I create them, what do I do with them? Naturally our company can sell them, but furthermore, I can go into a combat sim in Second Life and try to see if I simulated my weapons properly and have fun shooting at others who developed their own weapons/armor. So as you can see, it's not all work--there's a lot of play involved as well. And since I'm getting paid for it, it's still a profession. So again, I insist I'm a pro gamer. LOL
