@butitoy, thats what im saying, you can educate your client and you should have told them that before installing Deep Freeze make sure you have updated your AV and anti-Spyware, scan and make sure its clean before installing Deep Freeze.

im having a cafe and i always inform my customers if they want to wirite/save some documents informed us so that they will saved their work on the shared folder on the server where theres no Deep Freeze installed. fyi... my wife is running the cafe and she is a MedTech no background in computers, i would say we never had a computer infected by virus/trojan or customers trying to change our settings, etc except for hardware failures. it saved us a lot of headaches and troubles not to mention money. the only downside is the time to thawed the computers and install the necessary updates but its worthed.

the bottomline here is we have to use our common sense. Yup this software is not for noob and noob keep on blaming this software just simply they dont do it the right way.

you just keep on insisting things that wont really work on icafe.... do you have an icafe butitoy? a guy who dont own and operate a cafe and would just boast this program is best AV and anti Spyware is just making his ego as big as his a@$......

most icafe in manila are either using RollbackRX or Deep Freeze and i never heard somebody that would boast that this program would eat virus for breakfast like butitoy.

we are not fanbois but we are just saying how these software save downtime and a lot of hassles which you dont get. Windows management? well i can say its not enough. i had mentioned earlier there a lot of guys who love to screw up your system just for fun.

may i ask you if do you have a cafe and you just use the User Management in Windows as you have mentioned and how effective it is?

and by the way what is "User Management in Windows"? or are you referring to Group Policy, one more thing theres no Group Policy in Windows XP Home unless you do it by the registry.

You can't screw up a windoze machine in a User (Limited) account... try it...

And it's easy to manage, just delete/create user account, in whatever user priviledge you'd like to assign.

by the way, there are lots of user account types, (administrator, power user, user, replicator, and so on...)

Just tinker and make use ALL the available FREE features in windoze...

Nope, i dont have a cafe.. but a domain.

network blocks like 192.168.0.1/24, 192.168.1.1/12, 10.0.0.1/16, i know you can figure out how "small" that domain is.. hehehe

a company have set of rules and auditing is enabled in the server, you can report who is abusing your resources.

my icafe used to have a domain with an ISA Server installed but heck with it, there applications and games wont run on, some sites are blocked, etc...client are not happy and i loss a substantial amount of income just to protect my computers. by the way a user with a (limited) account wont work in icafe and you know better than me, dont you?

icafe customers are just there to be satisfied regardless of the consequences of the system, so dont compare those two enviroment because they are so different.

OT....
dont demean people and even called them stupid, i know a lot of guys who's having more knowledge than you, 2nd placer in microsoft quiz in the states and he is working as a consultant but he is very decent and never utter this word "stupid".
