but that's what nasa did on the 1st rover diba sir? katong na bunggo sa bato. they sent the command and waited 14 minutes for the response? or dili to mao? i just thought with the years nga daghan na improvements sa technology kay possible na ang real time hehe. sorry i really thought radio waves were slower than light hehe mao siguro pirmi ko bagsak sa science sauna

Are you trying to imply nga during the first rover, mas slower ang speed of light then, and mas faster karon?

The speed of light has, and has always been constant. Radio waves travel the same speed as light because radio waves are actually part of the electromagnetic spectrum, of which visible light is a part of.

So if you thought nga radio waves were slower than light waves, then samot ang delay.

I sincerely think wala pa dyud nimo kaayo na gets why naay delay pa man gani, because earth-centered kaayo ang thinking nimo--when you say radio/remote control, you think of mga toy airplanes or R/C cars diri on earth, nga INSTANTANEOUS ang travel from the control box to the toy...Mars dong, layoooo kaayo, mao nga it took the rover 8.5 months to get there, and that kind of distance is enough to let you see that light actually is slow, given the expanse of the universe.

As you go further away from the earth, mosamot ang delay. It takes two hours for a radio signal to reach Jupiter, and another two hours for the signal to get back to earth. So you cannot even have a telephone or cellfone conversation with someone who is orbiting Jupiter...because you'd say, "Hello?" and the response will come 4 hours later. GETS NA?

gets na sir, i really thought at first slower ang radio waves hence the 14 minute delay. karon ra jud ko kibaw nga same speed ra diay sila sa light. science is really not my forte ayaw lang ug kasuko sir, out of innocence (or stupidity) ra akong question. peace!
