If your planning for a new sub sir try DD or Kicker CVX. Limpyo kaayo ug bass.

speaker nga tag 40-50 watts(RMS). watts peak ani nga speaker is about 80-100 watts.mas maayo kung mas taas og power imong amp kay sa speaker.

    i hope nakatabang ko gamay.
By the way what is RMS sir?

^^ boybangas x2 ko sa opinion nimo. well explained sir.

here's an article for RMS taken from "http://www.ehow.com/facts_4899035_what-does-rms-stand-speakers.html"

What Does RMS Stand for in Speakers?
By Hannah Scott, eHow Contributor updated: April 06, 2011

Does your car stereo system have great sound?
RMS is an abbreviation that stands for "Root Mean Squared," and is a formula that is used to calculate an approximate average for the power an amplifier can continuously create. When used in reference to speakers or mostly for a speaker's max wattage in general, the term is used to signify the square root of the max wattage. For example: The speaker has 800 watts max, 400 watts RMS.

    Significance for Car Stereo Systems
The RMS formula would be of great significance for the car stereo system makers who need the best sound to win a competition or for musicians needing to know what wattage in an amplifier they need to play an arena concert. However, RMS is not a standard for measuring speaker wattage and is typically used only to give an approximate average in ratings.

    Considerations Audio Systems
Take into consideration the difference between Continuous RMS and Peak RMS. Continuous RMS, when used to measure speaker wattage, is an average for continuous sound at a level that does not distort the sound coming out of the speaker. Peak RMS is the average for a speaker when it is at its loudest. For best sound quality and speaker life, playing sound that is at a medium level is suggested.

    Function in a Sound System
The function of RMS is to be an averaging tool when looking at sine-waves of different sounds. Through a speaker, sine-waves are modulated and can only be calculated by averaging out a number of similar points in the waveform.

    Types of RMS
Speakers are not the only things that the RMS formula for averaging numbers can be used for. RMS can also be used to calculate voltage, and for velocity in physics.

    Misconceptions About RMS
Though RMS can be used to measure a solid-state amplifier wattage, RMS cannot be used to calculate the power of a tube amplifier. Tube amplifiers have a formula all there own.

boss kung tinambanon nato ang RMS, ang buot pasabot ana kay average niya na power output. Ang output sa coming from the amp padung sa imohang speaker will go up and down. Mao nang importante mahibawan nimo ang RMS para more or less maka estimate ka kung pilay saktong wattage ihatag nimo sa imohang speaker and para sa speaker mahibawan pud nimo kung unsa siya ka saba inig tukar.

Pagbantay anang mga speaker or mga amp na magbutang ug mga PMPO figures or peak music power output kay dili na siya realistic. Kay ang PMPO represents ang maximum na makaya sa speaker na output or amp bakaha but dili niya ma sustain ang pmpo. In other words, makaaabot siya sa PMPO figure but dili ka lahutay. Whereas kung RMS imohang gamiton, kay average man, within safe operating limits ang imohang speaker.

So for ex. naa koy 50watts x3 @ 8ohms,din ako gi butangan speaker nga tag 100 watts(RMS)per channel watts peak ani nga speaker is about 200watts . Din ako pa jud gi addan og 50 watts(RMS) per channel watts peak is 100watts . Subra na diay ako speaker nagamit sa ako amp?

    IMHO,

PMPO = Purely Marketing Power Output = Sales crap

Just use the continous RMS rating in wattage matching.

Consider also the %THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) when choosing amps.
Some manufacturers rate their amps at a higher RMS but also at a higher %THD.

I used to be an RF fanatic. I loved the way they packaged their products, sleek and really eye catching. on my 1st set up. I had a P2 12 sub powered by a V12 (bootleg) amplifier. was able to turn heads when cruising down the streets. was even able to cause a little rumble sa ayala basement parking, and unleash a flurry of car alarms... hehehehehe

however, when i was introduced sa other side of car audio, SQ (sound quality), the RF subs have been a let down lately.

1st they are quite pricey. 2nd, the subs they are making now, don't have the brutal durability and quality that they used to have. in short, ning mahal ang RF tungod sa ilang marketing strategies, and lesser on the engineering side.

in rating (1 to 5) of price to quality ratio, i'd say RF subs are rated 3. average..

DD on the other hand are still being hand built. they have been engineered well. if you want to play low crawling bass notes (hip - hop and R&B), you better get this sub.

DD512 will do the trick, not too pricey, but more than capable of delivering the bass. ** kindly do not use DD if you are into house, jass, rock music. kay mabilin ang bunal niya sa baho.

one thing as well, if mugamit man gani kag DD, kindly ensure nga naa kay DAKO nga amp to power them... say around 500 watts to 1000watts. kay mabitin ka kung gamay ra ang wattage sa amp nimo.

One of the most underplayed subs here in cebu, and the philippines as well, is the Radion subwoofers from Audiosystem.

the sub woofer looks unassuming. it has an all matte black facade. very dull looking, but these subs have a secret. they have captured awards and broken bass records already in europe.

These subs deliver a helluva punch!

I have auditioned here in cebu a single amp(Audiosystem R series) set up powering 1 sub (radion12) and 1 set of separates. the amp can only load 290watts(bridged) @ 4 ohms. however, when paired with the radion12, all doubts will be earased.

Radion Sub series from Audio system, wouldn't mind if it is fed with minimal juice from the amp. it can still deliver the bass notes accurately.

click here to see the products from audiosystem -->http://www.audio-system.net/

if you're interested to audition an audio system set - up, please do join us this friday 8pm, at the Petron recla, buyon sa park mall.

if ma revive akong loud and clear nga auto, might also bring it along... kicker comp 12's akong sub. hehehehehehe
