I don't know if he REALLY said it to Kobe, but as far as the Lakers' cap situation goes, it's implausible that this would happen. Aside from the Clippers, there are other teams that are legit suitors for him.

1. Houston Rockets - stacked with talents and could sign him outright if they want to as they saved a good cap space to sign a max player. However, they openly expressed that they want to pursue Howard this free agency. Imagine a CP3-Harden combo, that's a legit playoff contender right there!

2. Indiana Pacers - this team could be the new teenybopper and enticing to the bandwagoners here on iStorya.net in the future. They just need a legit player to lead this team and that is Chris Paul. Imagine a core with Hibbert-George-CP3, I think they will be the team to give an exciting game and have a great potential be a contender.

Yes, it's really scary! As far as their cap space goes, they can sign CP3 to a max deal and doesn't have to trade away players like Granger and Hill. However, Granger has an expiring contract so he could be a hot commodity this offseason - either be part of S&T or just trade for another player or a future pick. He could be a good back-up if he wants to, although it would affect on getting great offers once he enters FA. As for George Hill, he just signed a big contract and I doubt teams would want to pick up that. If CP3 end up on this team, Hill would be playing as a back-up that's for sure.

If I were him, I'd bolt from the Clippers. I just don't think their lineup is contender material. But that's just me. Hehe.
