I did not actually hear the ENTIRE HOMILY of the ARCHBISHOP. For the record, I base my opinions on the article I've read.

I am not actually pointing fingers to you but in your case also , you have CONVICTIONS already about the ARCHBISHOP of CEBU where you rooted your opinions and direct it as a CERTAINTY already which is very very WRONG.

No shame on that.

There is shame on that because you are basing it on what you read , not on what you know. For the record , those who who belongs to the faithfuls who KNEW and HEARD of the HOMILY, will definitely react and get irritated because it is not what was brought to the table . I dont even know why they are not doing anything because it was a poor reporting on the side of the article.

Some people here also base their opinions on a book they read, or what someone has said.
If we have read the entire homily, one would then also counter: "Did you ACTUALLY know what he meant??".
So, there's no winning here.

WITH the celebration of the feast of the Sto. Niño yesterday, Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma encouraged couples who want to have more children to do so, even with the recent passage of the Reproductive Health (RH) Law.

In his homily in the Pontifical Mass for the feast of the Sto. Niño yesterday, Palma reminded churchgoers that children, like Cebu’s patron, are considered as objects of love that create joy wherever they are.

In reference to the RH Law, Palma said that even if President Benigno Aquino III passed the law, couples should not be afraid if they want more children.

“Bisan pa ug giaprobahan ang RH Bill, kadtung gusting manganak dili lamang usa, dili lamang duha pero tulo o upat, musalig lang kita kay Lord (Even with the passage of the RH Law, those who want to have children, not just one, not two but three or four, should put their trust in the Lord),” he added.

Palma said he is sure that many couples have more than one child and live happy lives together.

He said he was glad that the Philippines remains to be family oriented, even though some countries are promoting a one-child policy.

In fairness to the above quote, I see nothing wrong with it though I am pro-RH Law. However, there is one thing that I would not agree. Though he did not attack the RH law, he was making an insinuation that it is something to be afraid of in the first place and his homily was meant to reassure everybody. What many people do not understand or do not try to understand is that the RH law was meant for anyone who would like to make a CHOICE. It is not something that is forcibly enforced to everyone (unlike the one child policy of China). The law simply aims to those people who wants to determine the size of their family in accordance with their capability. Many would say its against God's law. Yes, it might be but it is also against God's law if you go against the government. Any law of the land as long as it will not suppress or control anybody's religious belief or faith is still a valid law and in no way it is a deterrent to society.

he should have expounded by saying na, wai makapugong kung pila imong anak basta unta mindful sa ways and means and estado sa kinabuhi sa manag-asawa. unsaon man nang magsalig sa Ginoo pero gapatuyang ka diha ug anak nya di nimo halos matagad imo responsibilidad sa ila, di ba dako nang SALA.

i have nothing against padaghan ug anak. pero unta di lang unta na ang CENTRO sa panag-asawa. dapat unta RESPONSIBILITY ang mag una sa mga tawng gusto musu-ong sa pagminyo.
