IMHO, if the S2 is your main phone then stick with a 4.1.2 based custom rom

let alone the stabilty, as bugs are listed and reported in each thread.
and these bugs are to be expected as there never was and never will be an official 4.4.2 for the s2.

suffice to say there is no 4.4.2 Rom for the s2 nga "flash and forget"

and strangely enough most of the developers of 4.4.2 for the s2 doesn't actually have an s2 anymore.

let alone you also lose OTG and MHL support among others

If only Samsung released 4.4.2 for the s2, rom development would have been better.


edit - I know of one 4.4.2 S2 rom developer who doesn't use 4.4.2 rom on his own s2
kay according to him it's his everyday phone and he's a student at a university and God forbid
he misses an alarm from his s2 on a test day.

Dghan jd kaau ug roms nga stable jd kau for daily use. K2 ga s2 pa ko I never used stock.

If you lose otg there are other ways to get it.

And I disagree. Dghan mag flash and forget nga roms. Peru if d ka flash.aholic, d sad advisable nga mag rom since dghan jd kaug available roms, or updates to ur current rom.

But still again, in the end, it boils down to user preference.

Try carbon rom. D kau xa heavy in terms of customizations compared to other roms peru stable kaau. Super magamit for everyday use. D na gani ko mag download ug mga nightlies every nai release.

Hahaha. Ana jd boss. Mag cge rag flash. Trial and error and mix and match with different kernels. Hehe. Kng nai mkt.an nindt, Aw flash daun. Hehe.

Mao. Nindt pa jd kau ang s2. It's probably the best sa iya price range. Considering power, screen, and developer support. Pyts pa jd kau.

Oh and forgot to mention since ga hisgot man tag daily drivers for the s2. More than a month ago nai nagpa flash nako ug s2. Omni rom ako gi flash. Super pyts ra jd for daily use. No bugs.

Mga February man cguru tu. To think kitkat was still relatively early for the s2 ato nga time.

If it was that stable before, nsa nlng kaha run.

remember we're talking about S2 here.
have you tried Kitkat rom on the s2

You keep mentioning the Carbon Rom?
what version you say nga stable gyud kaayo ?
Is that one of your "flash and forget" rom for the s2?
last built I used had pocket mode going crazy.

it's not about user preference.
we're talking about s2 with custom roms above 4.1.2 and using it as your everyday phone.
we're talking about not having your phone rebooting itself randomly during the day
we're talking about not having to reboot your phone because suddenly Wifi wont work.
we're talking about not having blank screen after answering a call.

Yes I've tried roms for the s2 of course.

Ad2 ka download sa site nila mismo. Use the official. Ayaw ang unofficial kai 4.3.1 based ra na nga gi usab.
Ayaw sa xda. I'm using carbon now sa s2 (peru d akoa nga s2) no bugs so far. Flawless ang pocket mode.

What? After 4.1.2? Pag sure. Countless jd kaau ang flash and forget nga roms sa s2.
Like super. 4.2, 4.2.1, 4.2.2 then 4.3, then 4.3.1. Then 4.4. Then 4.4.1 now 4.4.2. K2 pa 2.3.6 pa ang s2 cge nakog flash. And knunai naai flash and forget roms. Cuz who would want to use unstable roms as a daily driver.

Maski unsa nga roms. Sa una halos Kada adlaw ilis rom. If maka uyun, testingan for a week. Or until kitag lain.

And I also mentioned omni and cm. Nia mga sikat2 ra na cla nga mga stable kaau. With support sa other phones sad. Not to mention roms specific to the s2 ra. Dghan na jd kaau ang super stable.

Ang ka nindt sad sa s2 kai mga roms sa s3, dali ra kau sa s3. Mao more or less similar ra jd ila roms. Or same base.

Sayun ra sad kau itesting with dual boot. Peru unfortunately kailangan pa same kernel. Sa n4 and later Nexus devices pwd ra different kernels so dali ra jd kau mag experiment.

Ang pasabot nako sa user preference kai f example early pa ang rom, there could be features nga wala. For example, breathing sms or quick unlock. If wala na, ang uban ok ra. Ang uban huwa2n jd nga naa nana.

Of course d jd ka mgamit ug roms nga super unstable with the bugs that you mentioned.

If naa na nga nga bugs, it isn't worth posting sa xda and tagsa ra jd na nga roms naa ana nga bugs gi mention nimu unless ALPHA release.
