MANILA, Philippines - Lawyer Ferdinand Topacio on Tuesday said columnist Ramon Tulfo broke no law when he started taking pictures of actress Claudine Barretto berating an airline staff.

"He broke no law because he took the video in a public place. There was nothing illegal. There should have been CCTV footage but the cameras were broken," he said.

He also noted that Barretto and her husband, Raymart santiago, are public figures. "Kung ikaw ay public figure, you should not be onion-skinned," he said.

He said Tulfo was right in suing Barretto and Raymart Santiago for grave coercion for trying to take his cellphone.

Topacio said the lack of CCTV footage makes it harder to determine who started the brawl at the airport.

He added, however, that Tulfo should not have been mauled when he was already on the floor and could no longer defend himself.

Hehehe, dili nalang ta maglalis ana . Btw, witnesses just shown up. Part of the Itchy worms band saw the commotion and they said it was Claudine's camp who throw the first punch.

this can also be questioned if the scene he saw was after tulfo punched and kicked claudine. why would a father who doesn't have that record of violence punch an old guy just for a video in front of his children? compare it to a guy with lots of violent records who admits he kicked a lady.

Tulfo did got beat up but I just doubt his statement base on his family record and his past actions.

Santiago told the Inquirer that when he approached Tulfo to ask him about his cell-phone video, the columnist suddenly punched and kicked him and his wife, Claudine Barretto.
“Why would I hit an older man in front of my children? I wasn’t brought up by my parents that way,” he explained.

i saw gma last night and when they ask mon about him starting the fight, wala man dayun gi deny, he went on to give excuses before denying it. i just cant seem to believe in him. naong pa lang butbuton na.

And for the Tulfo brothers using the airwaves to threaten Raymart, is not being smart. One, there is a genuine threat that's recorded for evidence. Second, real men don't go to media for problems, they settle things below the radar.

Mon Tulfo is known for being a tough guy, don't give a crabs as* as long as he can voice out his concerns. A lot of people are offended by his arrogance specially he is in the media. However, this is how they make the money so they believe it's the right thing to do. Even though most of the time he does not have concrete evidence or substance, he still attacks. The guy does not have class, he even attacked FPJ when he was in coma already.

With the reaction of Raymart, I am pretty sure there is more to it than just trying to get the phone from Tulfo. As my aunt would say, you should not hit a girl no matter what the circumstance is. When he shoved Barreto and kicked her, then by all means this guy needs to be put in his place.

Just because he is a Tulfo and he is a media man, doesn't give him the right to act what he did. Just put yourself in a situation where you wife/girlfriend is pushed and kicked, how would you react?

While it's uncalled for to demoralize the staff of Cebu Pacific for the cargo issues, it's still not right to push and shove a lady by the Tulfo. That's just wrong. I can just imagine if he did that to someone na may kaya pod.
