    China = 0; US = 11;

    Destroyers:
    China = 26; US = 59

    Cruisers:
    China = 0; US = 22

    Frigates:

    Submarines:
    China = 7 SSN's, 4 SSBN's; US = 53 SSN's, 18 SSBN's

    This isn't even counting the countless other support craft, long range bombing via B2's, and the US's superior espionage capabilities through satellites, and not to mention electronic warfare suites available on each surface vessel (which China is only starting to get installed)...

    Now who'll win a naval confrontation with the US again?
    Exactly my point. Add to that the countless US warheads and Air Force bombers just dying to drop them bombs (war = $$$, fyi).

    True, but that is besides the point. Indeed there will be casualties, but we should never back down especially when they're shooting us ON OUR OWN FREAKING TERRITORY!

    Nukes, you say?

    People's Republic of China and weapons of mass destruction - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    Nuclear weapons and the United States - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    US = 5,113
    China = 400

    Delivery systems?

    The US has the B61, B83 bombs.. all deliverable by F-16's, F-18's, and F-22's. F-18's are on aircraft carriers with virtually unlimited range. Did I forget to mention the ICBM's and IRBM's with MIRV capability? How about SLBM's through Ohio-class nuclear attack submarines? Did I mention the B-2 Spirits and B-1 Lancers? How about Tomahawk cruise missiles (can be armed with nuclear warheads) that can be armed on virtually any surface ship (Arleigh-burke class destroyers, Ticonderoga-class cruisers..etc.)

    And you still say "nuclear" will help China win?

    wala sad nmo g take into consideration na ang chiNA will not only facing USA but as well as the allies UK,france etc

    Erm, I beg to differ.

    NoKor: ended in a stalemate due to politicians running the war, not the soldiers. Truman chickened out when MacArthur threatened to nuke the Chinese to oblivion, while Gen. Chiang Kai-Shek's forces invade China from Taiwan.

    Vietnam: could've just nuked them commies, but again politics took over.

    Exactly. The Korean War ended in a stalemate because the US did not want a full-blown war with the Soviet Union (Europe was still being rebuilt at this time). This was the first proxy war during the Cold War; classic politics prevailed.

    The Vietnam War ended in a political defeat for the US, as there was mounting opposition to the war at home. If you look at casualties, Vietnam suffered the most. Even the Tet Offensive, which many said was a turning point in the war, ended in more casualties in the Viet Cong side.

    @ visual C: i don't think china will win over the US (or US over china) because of the quantity of Nukes they have. It will only take 1 lucky shot to end a brutal war. we on the otherhand are just going to be expectators + casuality (as usual).it can't be denied nga nag-andam na ang US for China..China is smarter than what we think.. china has hardcore allies nga motabang nila if mahitabo man gani na. i think it is undeniable nga ang china di mag-una2 og away. if mahitabo man gani nga mag gira, then it will be the fall on both sides.If nabuhat na sa US middle east, i don't think makaya na nila diri & china pajud.

    i don't know any nuke numbers for every country, but 1 thing i surely know, US
    sanctions nuclear installments in other countries, meaning, cla ra dapat ang naay dghan NUKE kysa lain pang kanasuran, not even the China could compete the nuclear warheads

    God forbid war but if ever there is one, i'll gladly fight for my country. I can't imagine our women being raped by Chinese! Just imagine if this happens to our moms, wives, sisters, girlfriends... Shoot. NOYNOY, please do something. If it's possible to forfeit the PDAFs of our congressmen and senators, I think you should do it even just for a short period of time so that we may buy AIRPLANES, WARSHIPS, MISSILES, BOMBS, or NUKES to blow the crap out of China, just in case they invade our lands.

    exactly my point.. di ni mahitabo. kabalo sila sa consequences if buhaton ni nila.. imagine worldwide boycott sa ila mga produkto? if tan-awn nato kinsa ang kusog mo invade, that will be the US. & sa karon, safe ta kay wa may makuha ang US sa ato (humana man sauna, na invade nata daan..hehe). Aggression sa spratlys is natural, para sad na di ta manghilabot nila. murag basketball ba, masikhan gani ka yaw panawag sa ref para motawag og foul. paniko sad..baws2 rana. ang ato lang kay di man ta kabalo maniko gud (wa sad tay ikabuga) mao gihimo ratang kataw-anan. if kusog (og limpyo) pa ta og military force, i am sure walay mohilabot nato.

    OT: take SG or Brunei (or even taiwan) for example, kagamay anang mga nasura, ngano man nga walay manghilabot sa ilaha? it is all about respect..bottomline, wa silay respect sa atong nasud (Govt). kay if naa pa, wa nay buang nga moilog sa Spratlys og sa SABAH.
