those are plastic plants mam. plastic na tanan kay kan-on man gud ang live plants. customize ni nga tank ni leostargolem, i think about 40gals. customized that it has a basking area (also glass) sa upper right about a foot width and about 5 inches from the top of the tank.

payts rana 300 gallons na pond. ang minimum na kylangnan sa res kai 10 gallons of water per shell inch. so if magbuhi kag 2 res in a 300g pond, and assuming they'll grow as big as 12 inches, you still have room to keep one or two more.

filtration pud. they're three times messier than fishes. so if makaya, ang filtration system kai double or triple gyud. if you super duper love your RES, paliti ug filtration system for a 600-g pond.

basking area with sand? ok ra. as long as walai small pebbles na ma-swallow nila. they eat almost anything they see so a pebbles are definitely a no-no. daghan ko nabasahan na mag prolapse ug ma-impacted ang mga res tungod kai naka-swallow sila ug pebbles. ok ra ang sand kai it will just pass through their digestive tract kai pino ra man.

and yes, mu-breed na sila. res will be mature enough for breeding at about 5 years of age. and if ma-preggy na ang tortol, kinahanglan sila ug soft, moist soil para mu-lay sa ilang eggs. if dili sila kakita ug nesting area, mangitlog ra sila bisag-asa (mamatay ang baby tortol ani) or mu-stay ang eggs inside hangtud mu-black unya mamatay inyong tortol.

but res-keepers around the world don't recommend breeding them. there's much more to be saved from pet shops na wala gyud kabalo unsaon pag take care ug res. so if you're planning to breed them para managhan imong turtles, save one from a pet shop instead. ang res sa akong migo sa NY kai nag lay ug eggs, pero iyang gi-buak ang mga eggs. =|

nutrition pud. make sure balanced diet inyong tortol to avoid pyramiding and other vitamin deficiencies. make sure they get enough sunlight para walai shellrot.

    wa na. gayaw-yaw nako. eheh....

if RES ang imo bao, normal and natural ra jud na sila nga mo-dark ila color.. it's not about the food or unsa..it's part sa ilang life na mo-dark sila..in the first place, it's erroneous to call them GREEN TURTLE.. they're actually RED EAR SLIDER.. so ang color nalang na imo bantayan is the RED patch dapit sa ear kay mostly, mosamot pajud na ka-RED..

    Naa lang ko i-add gamay..
I strongly advise not to have more than 2 RES if you can't have a BIG BIG BIG pond..
True. Cute sila if daghan sila and magtapok2x sila especially if hatchling pa..
pero if dagko na sila..the bigger RES will dominate all the other smaller RES and will result to constant biting, scratching, fighting, etc..
Sa wild, magtapok ra na sila if mag-basking pero if naa sa tubig, lagyo jud na sila kay territorial man sila..they will fight to death if they have to..
Let us keep in mind that what may seem to be a cute set up may not be benificial sa'to beloved turtles...

    rule of the thumb:
10Gals of space (basking/land area + water area) per 1" of SCL (Straight Carapace Length) of RES
