why are there a lot of negative reviews about the P990i regarding memory leaks?

could be SE is trying to hasten the development and cramming up all available s/ws onto the p9 but forgot the essential part on memory partitioning on the s/w.. UIQ3s ive heard is not that very good and not that stable OS also... that maybe the case that the more apps its opened on the phone, the chances of resetting is high, Ive heard of Sman but im not sure how this app works on the phone though... (perhaps closing the all unwanted apps opened?).

I agree w/ comic that SE has built the p990i as a defective device when it was release.. firmwares are there to supposedly correct it.. but heck.. I still love my P990i.. and my friends still drools and people still stares at it when I bring it out open from the cotton case..

i think memory leaks are caused by memory shortage thus a hardware problem and not by a file or system management or memory allocation problem that can be fixed by a firmware, so they say.

i just got a FREE brand new E61i & P990i compliments from Smart Infinity yesterday but honestly, i have a constant urge to throw an ineffective device regardless of how cool it looks.

so far, i have not yet experienced it with the P990i but most if not all forum says that it has a memory leak problem which causes it to reset when the memory is more than halfway full.

Memory Leak is a problem of UIQ3.0 which was fixed on UIQ3.1 hence P990 users will never have a stable phone since it is run on Symbian 9 UIQ3. SE wont spend money for P990 users by making the upgrade to Symbian 9.5 UIQ3 available. For the recent P1i it still uses the same Symbian 9 UIQ3 only with bigger ram. It is just like the analogy of wearing a diaper so you know you are ok but still there is poop in your butt. W960 will have Symbian 9.5 UiQ3 as the reports said so that device will be more stable. Symbian 9.0 UIQ3 was created with 3rd party developers in mind making it an easy platform to develop applications the drawback is the memory leaks. http://uiq3.sourceforge.net/wiki/ind...fo/Memory_Leak

well p990i users here then are at the mercy of "hoping for the best expect for the worst" kind of thing...

I for one couldnt find any hope in these uprades/new firmwares release by SE.. its just like operating on a cancer, getting the tentacles out but not the head of it... darn!

I surely hope lang there's a light at the end of this.. if not.. tsk..

way ayo lagi ning products sa sony "like no other gyud" mag himo high end device pero di completohan sa features... naay wifi 3g wala sab hsdpa og edge, naay edge wala sab 3g (k800 vs k790) - standard vs non standard (p990i made in france vs p990i made in china).
