pnoize2k4,
I have replied your pm.

the one thing i've always wondered is if its possible to contrive GUNFIRE and film a sequence WITHOUT using blanks and a real pistol (as its always done in the movies).... and if its possible to say, use a BB model of a Glock and have the actor feign recoil and then just use foley and, maybe cg the blast that comes out of the barrel..., the hard way. maybe i can even be of help when it comes to fight sequences? or even in sequences that need the use of firearms..
but its gonna look phony if people don't see the slide snap back, or a shell pop out of the ejection port...

if someone has something to say about this, pls do say something. tnx

If I get you right, here is what I will do: use air soft handguns; work-out an Inferno fire effect in the post. Give it a good sound effect (record it ambient in Lapulapu City Gund Club range). Cut to reaction shot. Then print.
Jomark, with the help of pinoize2k4 and members of airsoft teams here in Cebu, is now about complete with an extraction scene to be shot when permits allow.
This will probably be the first of its kind in terms of cinematogrpahy for the Air Soft war game coverage. I will be using the gun's point of view for the camera set-up and I will actually join the game. My small digital video camera will be attached and tied to the barrel of the gun or any weapon that i will be using (borrowing).
Am getting excited about it as "pnoize2k4" will provide me with some gears for the duration of the game.![]()

Jomark,
The USC girls have PMed me already. They introduced themselves well and led me on how to recognize them in a crowded place.
Why don't we two walk from Marriot on that afternoon and talk to these girls. Which one of the 5 Doreen is planning to cast for the lead female role in "100 Days"?
woohooo!
btw, the way guys how did the meeting go? sorry i wasn't able to come. friggin work got in the way.
with regards to gunfire sound effects, i can also help out. we could arrange a foley recording sched at the range.
Nothing more than "getting to know each other." They showed "Turistang Ahat" and expressed interest in acquiring the rights. I believe we are going to have three or four more meetings before we can flesh out something mutually beneficial.
pinoize2k4,
Assuming we have all the safety engineering in place, can some members of your ASG team execute some stunts --- like scaling and/or falling from one of the tall buildings in Ayala Business Park.
A well tested and exhaustively tried cinematic safety engineers for stunt routine --- and this is Manila --- is the group of Mr. Totoy Torrente. A branch of the SOS Stunt in Cebu --- represented by one who goes by the name Val --- said they have all the saftey harnesses and wires required for all sorts of stunts and these equipment go by the hour. A "falling" body double stunt is PhP5,000 per jump from as high as 21 floors, net of out-of-pocket expenses. Frankly, we cannot afford this.
You might have some members --- perhaps for additional aesthetics to war games --- who can do jumps, assuming we guarantee 101 percent safety.
Blongkoy: point of clarification. we won't be asking ASG's help. We will be working with a team that is acknowledged by the city gov't.
With regards to the stunt. I'll ask them if they could help us out on this one. I suggest that we set a meeting with them within next week....what do you guys think?
btw, i still can't see the Sinebuano thread.
The people behind istorya.net is still working on a generic SineBuano thread that would cater to indie filmmakers in a non-partisan format.
It will soon be announced.
