I think you need love! the Cebuano way!!! You want group hug? Peace be with you balatucan...
@balatucan, guess what, most of those poor people living right now here in Cebu werent really from Cebu in the first place...i should know, having been involved in several outreach activities in the different slum areas of the city...they come from different places, like bohol, negros, northern mindanao, and yes, some are even from DAVAO...and i've been around the city lately (including the districts where most of those of lower socio-economic status live), and tell you what, i didnt see kilometric queues for cheap rice...just about 5 to 10 people waiting in line..
besides, there's something about Cebuanos that make Cebu so special--coz frankly, Cebu isnt much without the people--and among these things, is our resilience, it's a fact the rice growing isnt compatible with our island's topography...so we eat corn grits instead, that's why it's safe to say that we'd never grow hungry without NFA rice anyway...hehehe...
about our washrooms, i dont know what you're talking about...you could either use the washrooms at SM, Ayala, or those at Waterfront, and Marriot etc. or even those toilets downtown, and i'll tell you what, you wont have to spend a peso...i dont know if you could resist spending on some other stuff while you're in transit though, our merchandise just happen to be among the best in this side of the globe
about the doormat thing, i'd like to think of Cebu more of like a pretty signboard that welcomes visitors who come into the country (or into the south) it's nice that tourists feel safe when they land in an airport where waiting sheds dont explode )
and oh, about delusions, i dont know if you guys down south have awaken from that delusional state wherein you believe that you're living in the world's largest city...bwahahaha...
In Davao, corn is just for chickens. ha ha ha. Who said you are happy with corn. Corn prices in Cebu is also competing with rice. I know, I watched your local cable tv everyday and I know whats happening in your city, everyday. ha ha ha.Originally Posted by nItO/pIrEnA
You talk about resilience. Well, despite those bombings (which was perpetrated by the government according to the Magdalo group), Davao has boomed and there seems to be no stopping at it. The people of Davao survived despite the odds.
I dont know how Cebuanos will fare if bombs start exploding in your city. It will surely freak you out given the fact that your city is already reeling from its reputation as nest of muggers and murderous gangs.
BUT we Davaoenos dont pray that things like that will happen in Cebu. We have experience that tragedy and we dont want other Filipinos particularly the loving, amiable, hospitable and friendly Cebuanos to suffer the same fate.
Yes, honestly even if the said bombings are used to poke fun at us by people who are smarting from a NO. 20 RANKING!
You can ridicule us with bombings, fine. But hey, WE ARE NO. 3 an you are there below at pitiful number 20. bwa ha ha ha ha.
Ui, in fairness to Davao, ilang city is in boom man sad - boom as in BOOM-BA!!!
paskang hambogeroha gyud nimo do. mas maayo pa tawon niyo ang normin. tuo man tawon ka anang survey survey. bisag unsaon economic facts will tell you Cebu leads all the way in the south .....Originally Posted by balatucan
