A little bit out of the topic, but the last poster made me think hard, and I find the results of my analysis (probably flawed but here it is anyway) rather amusing.

    a. Baldokadyu said "Para pawala sa stress sa skwela ug work."

    b. This leads us to conclude that people suffer from stress when they go to school or when they work.

    c. Now, we all know that stress is bad for health. In fact if you look around istorya, there are dozens of topics about the ill effects of stress, some even claim it can cause death.

    d. Now if stress is bad for health, simplified logic will dictate that school and work is bad for health. Which explains the reason why you see students skipping classes and/or exams, or workers trying to come up with all sorts of excuses not to go to work.

    e. If this is all happening, then it's clear as the light of day, that something is wrong with the educational system, and the economic system--people are being forced to do things they don't want to do.

    f. If asked why they keep on doing it (i.e. going to school or going to work), their usual responses are, "Kay wala man ko'y choice--if I don't study/work, I will not have a future"...but hold it right there...they sound responsible right? Or are they? If they are truly responsible and care about the future, then why do they have to keep finding means of relieving stress, like enjoying nightlife?

    g. There is an expression that roughly goes like this "You want to have your cake, and eat it too." Have one's cake and eat it too - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia It speaks of the incompatibility of two wants. The two "wants/needs" involved here are sacrifice (for the future) and enjoying life right this moment. You cannot have one and also the other. You cannot still hold a cake in your hand, after you've already eaten it.

If you truly want sacrifice, then do sacrifice, and don't complain about it, or find something that soothes your plight.
