i've read a post before in psp forums na pagupgrade sa iyang psp
using fake memstick kay na brick ang psp.
that time wla pa (mythical being) battery.
im not sure if ma fix to using above method..
ill say careful mo when upgrading your psp using these memsticks.
to know if magic gate is supported,
from your psp xmb go to Video/music/photo icon then press triangle, select information.
it should say "supported" in magic gate field.
i found in one of my friend's psp kay unknown value. not sure if fake though.

My Micro SD with Memorystick Pro Duo Adaptor tested with PSP:
Kingston Micro SD 2G (Made in Japan) Original
The write speed is faster than the Original Sony Memorystick Pro Duo
PNY Micro SD 1G (Made in Japan) Original
The Read/Write speed is almost the same as the Original Memorystick Pro Duo
Comparing my Original Sony Memorystick Pro Duo 1G (Made in Japan)
The Write Speed is faster compared to the given 1G data.
