Actually, SVIDEO is pretty decent for videos already. RCA is the worst. If iyang TV dili kaya ug HDMI or anything else, then SVIDEO nalang gyud. Unless you have the budget to buy and LCD TV or if you already have one, then check if naa bay HDMI input ang TV,if naa then get an HDMI cable instead. but if wala, svideo should be good enough for your analog TV.

With regards to your advise on LCD TV.

Huna hunaa sad tawn ... wala pa bya tay HDTV service diri sa Cebu.
Have you tried using an LCD TV with our Local Cable?
Your TV may be able to handle up to 1080p but the source is still crappy unless ur using DVD, Blu-Ray, HD DVD or Input from a PC

The end result or should I say... "THE END POINT"... bati ghapon... and u want to buy an LCD TV gyud... maypa LCD Monitor nalang nga 22". cheaper, more functional pa either a 22" nga LCD monitor or a 1080p nga LCD TV (I think Philips has a 37" model nga 1080p for sale at P69,999) the other brands nga 1080p only come in 42", 46" and up... those are wayy expensive na.

In all honesty... I can't really notice a significant difference between Svideo and RCA given that its a quality RCA cable.

On paper Svideo is better because it reduces things like dot crawl, hanging dots, and crawling edges on the sides of the picture.

I've tried testing both connectors before and asking other people if I was using the Svideo or the RCA...they werent able to tell the difference...I'm sure there is but maybe it takes a really keen eye to notice things like that.

With regards to RCA/Svideo vs Component, DVI, HDMI though... quality is really noticeable.

At least naa syay options... dili lang....

"di gyud na nindot ang labas..ayaw usiki imo kwarta....you need a LCD TV"

Video quality is subjective, let the author find out for himself... 20 pesos for me is not usik to find out if I should spend 45-75k for an LCD TV

What then if ok ra diay unta ang CRT TV.. unsaon naman ang LCD TV? Ibalik sa tindahan?

The way YOU are thinking is ... SPEND 45-75k FIRST.... ask questions later...
As I said no TUBE TV can support more than 420 lines...... Even if its 40 inches TUBE TV.

When you recommend something.... EVEn if it will only cost 20 pesos for an S-video cable....

ALWAYS ask FOR THE ENDPOINT..... unsay tumong....

S-Video will never show anything above 640 X 480 resolution.
So DON'T EXPERIMENT as this vipvip68 would want to you to do.......... bisag 20 peso experiment rana

better stick with the laptop screen.

    or get an LCD TV.

I only said IT will look better with an lcd TV. I doesn't mean he has to buy it right away.

EVen if the S-video cable EXPERIMENT is cheap.... If you are used to 1280 X 800 resolutions.... would you go DOWN to 640 X 480(as what vipvip68 would want you to do)

    no disrespect guys...

if S-video is useless (from high-to-low end V-cards), then why do they still exist on video cards nowadays? to answer the threadstarters question, all he need is a 4pin S-video cable. regardless on its quality, its just a question on how to connect two electronic devices

what does that have to do with anything? Yeah... maka dload lagi ka ug 720 or 1080 content... hambug ra gyud ni imo da'.. Gamay ra man sad available sources sa HDTV content.. and it takes too long to download... or mang hambog nasad ka nga kusog kaayo imong internet connection?

I've seen ur posts sa other threads... the words "closed minded" come up... just goes to show its not only me who thinks that way about your posts...

Ajol's solution to everything..."GET AN LCD TV"

    @ajol...

read the FIRST post sa threadstarter.... basaha ug tarong sa imong nindot nga LCD TV... what does he want help with...

layo na kaayo imong rambling about quality and resolution sa CRT vs LCD... wala lagi ni question ana'.
Mahalinan na ka sa imong expretise anang LCD TV nimo...

Going back to what u said before... and I quote,....
Its not a question if its possible or not.... its the quality...
The issue is NOT ABOUT QUALITY... the issue Is about helping him solve his problem. He just wants to connect his laptop to the tv for crying out loud...

In the first place, u didnt even teach him how to do it... Second... u just told him to buy an LCD TV because videos on CRT suck for you.

Hatagan tika ug mas detailed nga analogy...

Lets say after ur work as a salesman sa Samsung..u work part time at a PC Shop.. PCX sa SM dapit..... a customer goes to the store and says...

"can u help me fix this Pentium 4 Desktop...My OS got corrupted and I need a reinstall."

To that you would say... bati na' ang P4... upgrade nalang ug Core 2 Duo.. nindot kaayo... ayaw nalang i-reinstall imong OS... usik usik lang ka...

Kasabot na ka ron? U arent really solving the persons problems... ur just making things more complicated from what he wanted to do...

Ok ra unta if you said.... " U can connect ur laptop to the TV via S-Video cable.." If you want better video quality.. you could buy an LCD TV, Projector or what have you...

Ang imoha kay... "ayaw nalang ug suway.. bati lagi na'.. usik usik lang ka..." Unya naa naman syay CRT TV beh... unsaon man na' nimo.. ilabay?

What ur doing is throwing money at the problem.. not really fixing it... naay sayon nga solution.. mangita gyud ug lisod... what the heck!
