Una na sila motukod ug Oil Rigs diha sa Tanon Straight bro, they will conduct a FEASIBILITY study on how to preserve nature...

So ingon ana nga hitabo miasenso ba ang Pinas? WALA!!!

Naa na man tay oil exploration bai. Murag 3 years na man tingali na nga ga-operate wala man lagi ta kadungog nga nakadaot sa atong Kadagatan. Negative ra kaayo inyong tan-aw ana nga butang nga in the first place wala man mo kahibaw unsaon na pagtrabaho. In-fact, just 2 years ago, 13 ka new oil rigs sa china ang nakuha nga project sa among companya. Naglibog gyud ko ngano sigi mo bagulbol about ana nga that's a very good opportunity sa atong country nga naa tay kaugalingon nga oil.

For the mean time... Pagbasa-basa sa mo about malampaya para sad naa moy Idea usa mo mo-post diri.

    From malampaya project website.

    Q: What is natural gas?
A: Natural gas is a fossil fuel comprising mainly methane. It occurs naturally in underground structures similar to those containing crude oil. Natural gas has been dubbed the "fuel of the future" or "green" fuel due to its clean qualities relative to other fossil fuels like oil and coal.

Q: What is the Malampaya Deep Water Gas to Power project?
A: The Philippines is now embarking on its first major gas project called the Malampaya Deep Water Gas-to-Power project. This involves the development and construction of the Malampaya Field facilities in 820-meter depth, a shallow water gas production platform some 30 kilometers from the wellheads, a 504-kilometer subsea pipeline, gas landing facilities in Batangas, and three power plants with a combined generating capacity of 2,700 megawatts. The field lies more than 3,000 meters below sea level and is located 80 kilometers offshore northwest of Palawan. It contains an estimated 2.6 to 3 trillion cubic feet of gas, enough to fuel 2,700 megawatts of power for 20 years.

Q: Who owns the Malampaya project and who is developing it?
A: The Malampaya project is a national flagship project of the Philippine government and is the owner of the gas resource. Developers of the upstream component are Shell Philippines Exploration B.V., together with joint venture partners Texaco Philippines and Philippine National Oil Company-Exploration Corporation as contractor of the Department of Energy under Service Contract 38.

Q: How much does it cost to develop the project?
A: The upstream component will cost approximately $2 billion. For downstream, the buyers of the gas will invest some $2.5 billion for the power plants and related transmission lines.

Q: How is it being developed?
A: Gas will be extracted from the Malampaya field at a water depth of about 3,000 meters and will be directed to a production platform where gas and condensate will be separated. The condensate will be temporarily stored in the caisson of the concrete gravity structure and exported via shuttle tankers. The dry gas will be compressed and exported via a 504-kilometer subsea pipeline to Batangas where it will undergo final treatment prior to delivery to the buyers.

Q: Who are the buyers of the gas?
A: The National Power Corporation (NPC) has signed a Gas Sale and Purchase Agreement (GSPA) with SPEX to supply fuel for a 1200-megawatt gas-fired power plant at Ilijan, Batangas. First Gas Power Corporation has a GSPA for its 1000-megawatt plant at Sta. Rita, Batangas. FGP Corp., an affiliate of First Gas, will likewise buy gas for a 500-megawatt power plant.

Q: When will the gas be available for delivery?
A: Gas for commissioning will be available for delivery by 1st October 2001 and gas for commercial sales, by January 1, 2002.

Q: Will the project benefit the country?
A: The project will generate landmark benefits to the country in terms of significant annual revenues for the government through its share in the gas proceeds. Foreign exchange savings as a result of the displacement of fuel imports will be substantial. Also, natural gas is an environment-friendly fuel and will lessen carbon dioxide emissions in the Philippines by at least 5 million tonnes annually.

Q: What other benefits can accrue to the Philippines?
A: During construction, hundreds of Filipinos are expected to be employed or benefit from the various project contractors assigned to the project. The concrete gravity structure, the on-shore gas plant and the power plants have generated thousands of jobs for Filipinos
