Default Who has Dream Satellite? Have questions about their service

    !

Are you sure there is Discovery Channel? There is no DC on their website & it shouldn't matter where you are.

There is Disney Channel but there is no Animal Planet.

Please confirm that you can get DC and AP with Dream Sat in Ozamiz City. I'll call Dream if this is the case.

pitsay --- again, please confirm. Maybe it was another cable company (not Dream) which is showing Discovery Channel & Animal Planet in Ozamiz City.

FilProducts, Inc. d i ang gamit nila diri oi! But naa'y DreamSat pero mahal man daw.

Naka.ingon ko na DreamSat ila gamit here kay there's this logo of DreamSat sa upper right sa tv monitor man gud... And then whenever there's a timeout or a blackout of a certain channel, DreamSat man gud ang nakabutang. Weird, huh?

The Animal Planet, Discovery Channel and Disney Channel has a DreamSat logo gyud! Don't know why...

Default Who has Dream Satellite? Have questions about their service

Hmm... please correct me if I got it wrong but FilProducts, Inc. (a cable company?) is showing channels with Dream Sat logos?

FilProducts, Inc. (in Ozamis City) is showing channels which Dream Sat (right now) isn't showing over here in Cebu?

Can you confirm again? This is going to be difficult to explain to Dream's call service. I want to get it all right before making a long distance phone call.

I really don't have any idea.. basta mao ra jud na ako n.notice

Basta... yes! FilProducts, Inc. (a cable company) is showing channels with DreamSat logos!

And duda nako nangawat ra na FilProducts, Inc. sa DreamSat ug channels kay dugay na man ni sila na cable company ang mura loosing na man gani siguro ni sila.. don't know lang ha.

What I am worrying is that, basin if you talk them about this, basin ba putlon sa FilProducts ang mga channels that I mentioned.. Sayang... mawala uña.. dili na ko makakita! *sigh*

Hmm... not sure about Animal Planet, but you may be watching old broadcasts of Discovery Channel since Dream Satellite no longer has the license to show DC.

You can check by going to DC's site:

    http://www.discoverychannelasia.com/

Check the programs & schedules. Are they the same?

If it's not the same, that means you are getting old broadcasts. If it's the same... you better tell me by post or pm because I have to complain why you're getting the latest broadcast of Discovery Channel w/ Dream Sat logos. I want Discovery Channel!

Just a comment on Dream Satellite tv...

The Dream package is good but Dream satellite's low resolution
video feed is just way too bad to justify paying P750/month for it.
You can clearly see video compression artifacts much like those
you see in poorly encoded VCD's.

Mas maayo pa kung mag outdoor antenna na lang ka. Free pa.
If you don't have cable tv service available, choose a good outdoor
antenna kay mas higher and claro pa ang resolution.

An initial investment of P3,900 plus a 12-month contract
for P750/month for Dream satellite would have been OK if
it had good resolution. I had no qualms about Dream's clarity
because reception is indeed really very clear. But what use is
clarity if the screen resolution is poor?

If you have a 24" tv or larger, Dream's 'klaro' but low resolution
video feed should be annoyingly visible and obvious.
Good thing I demo'd first before switching to dream satellite
from my outdoor VHF-UHF antenna which I bought at Ace hardware
(the largest/longest antenna available at Ace).

    In summary:
    1. Go for Dream satellite if you have no other option.
That is, no cable tv service available in your area and you live out of
range of Cebu's 11 local VHF and UHF stations.)
    2. Ask for a demonstration from Dream before planning on having
an installation. You won't regret it. (I'm sure the resolution will
turn you off if your tv is 24" or larger.)

home theater roxer - Yup. Their resolution is nothing to go crazy over, and they also have signal problems. Not often, but it does happen.

Right now, the only channel I watch on it is Animax since AXN on SkyCable these days don't have as many signal problems as before.

Aside from the cable company. Do you guys have a DTV or Dishnet available in Cebu?

is it possible to "self-install" the dish? coz i've seen dishes installed in the U.S. & they have this some sort of gadget to determine how to precisely mount & where to accurately beam the dish. just curious... :
    Maybe, maybe not. PM me!
