NBA AllStars today is just there to take all of them spectator's money. It's not for real competition anymore amongst the best players of the league. Franchises wouldn't wanna risk injuring their star players.
That's odd. Because the way I see it, is exactly the opposite of what you wrote in your last line. Star players showcasing their verticals, their athleticism, their wankiness (steph got posterized by giannis and just then, steph laid down on the floor right before another dunk from giannis. showing he doesnt want to get another poster by the same guy in a row). If you think about it they are carelessly playing and goofing around like children which makes it more prone to freak injuries than playing actual basketball.
But you're right about being an intramurals. They dont really need to get serious because afterall they know, asg doesnt enhance their resume and their value.
