    we can solve it by.
    1. implementing strick policies to disicipline the people
    2. proper garbage disposal must first be done at home.
    3. work together...
    4. DO 1,2,3 IN ACTION...

disiplina kinahanglan ani. If it doesnt start within us, wa jud ni ayo. We do segregation at home but its sad to say that when we dispose it, we can see garbage bags out there that are not yet segregated.

"No segregation no collection policy" anyone? When are we going to learn. As I've experienced, mas mayo separated ang malata ug di malata. Usually the malata thing dali jud na mbaho. In our case, we dispose the malata every other day. ang di malata is twice a week. We even segregate the di malata into plastics, metals and glass.

the malls are starting with the segregation of garbage and that's a good sign! even the garbage collection dates are scheduled based on malata, di-malata and recyclable.. i wonder why some people are not into this practice yet knowing that it's just a matter of discipline and it's not hard doing though...tsk, tsk, tsk..

Observar nako...ang pinaka daghan gyud nga nagkalat nga basura ug pinaka labayanan sa mga tapulan nga mga tawo especially squaters residents is mga estero and secluded canals....wonder why nganong ang mga barangay officials wala nagpakabana ani ? I mean they should make actions kung unsa-on pagdisiplina aning mga tawhana....I know its really hard to find solution for this quatting problem but at least madisiplina man lang unta.

yes we pinoys can solve this problem. one fine example is the solid waste management program of Barangay Luz. i think they were awarded because they have the best program among all barangays in the Philippines. they were able to make millions out of their garbage.

Yeah really nice to know that despite economic deficulties, still there are people who are concern and never give up finding ways to solve this long time problem.

And they do also in Boracay....here the artcile:

DOT, Boracay, Aklan agree on resort island’s garbage problems
    Ronnie E. Calumpita, Reporter

THE disagreement between the Department of Tourism and the Aklan local government over the location of a modern waste-treatment facility for Boracay Island has been resolved, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources said Monday.

Zoilo Andin 2nd, special action officer of the DENR for Boracay Island, said Mayor Ciceron Cawaling of Malay agreed to place the facility within the island not in the mainland in Aklan.

“They [the parties] are now OK, the disposal site will be set up on the island. The garbage will no longer be barged and processed in the mainland except special waste like batteries, bulbs and medical waste,” he told reporters in an interview.

Now that the dispute is over, the DENR expects the P14-milion grinder-crusher technology being eyed by the DOT to be put up on Boracay Island by September in time for the start of the peak season.

With the establishment of the new technology, the cost of which will be shouldered by the tourism department, Andin said a controlled-waste facility, an environmentally sound waste disposal site, to replace the existing open dump is no longer needed.

“This [grinder crusher] is a zero-waste technology,” he added. The grinder crusher will also pave the way for the closure of the open dump on Boracay Island which is being used despite it is already banned under the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000.

The problem of the environment department where to get soil to cover the open dump as a remedial measure, however, still remains.

“We’re looking at getting soil from the mainland [Aklan] but it is expensive. We’re appealing to residents of Boracay if they could allow the local government to extract soil in their property to address the existing open dump,” Andin said.

Lisod gyud e diciplinahon ang public...

Dapat unahon ang root or causes sa basura...

Factories or department store maoy dapat e regulate labi na sa pag packing sa mga items.

why not use nalang ug mga recycle materials sa pag packing.

recycled cartoon or paper bag nalang gamiton instead og plastic bag sa department store.

recycled paper plate insted styro sa food chain.

Ang public naman hinoon maoy gi han-akan sa mga problema sa basura...
